TRAIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MAIN CABIN
Watch the intro. Your old law firm call you, asking you to
come back home. And Hans Voralberg asks
you to take him to Syberia… which you agree to.
The train comes to a stop in Romansberg,
and it needs to be wound again, before
it can continue. Walk up to the cabin
with the pedestal.
CABIN WITH PEDESTAL
There’s nothing you can do here at the
moment. Go right, to the Sleeping
Quarters.
SLEEPING QUARTERS
Walk down to the other end of the
room.
Hans Voralberg is here, tinkering away,
on his workbench. Talk to Hans and work
through all the dialogue with him. When
conversation is over, walk back down to the other side of the room.
SLEEPING QUARTERS
Hans is busy tinkering away at something
on the table at the end of the room.
Talk to him and work through all the dialogue options. He gives you a MECHANICAL HEART, and
asks you to install it in the mechanical horses in Cirkos’s Bar. Talk to him again and finish working through
all the dialogue with him. When you’re
ready, head down, and continue along the carriages until you’re outside the
train.
WILDERNESS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RAILWAY LINE
After a frantic chase to catch up with
you train, Ivan and Igor take the train over a bridge… just as it
collapses! The train is left dangling,
leaving you on this side of the bridge with no way to cross over.
You’ll have to look for a way around
it. At least you have Youki for
company. Head up & right to the next
screen.
Watch a short cut scene as Ivan and Igor
taunt you. You automatically continue
right.

OUTSKIRTS OF THE YOUKOL VILLAGE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN
After unhitching the passenger car, you,
Oscar, and Youki continue your journey.
However, it isn’t long before the train grinds to a halt once more,
because you‘re run into a huge snowdrift, and the rail tracks are covered in
snow. You automatically climb out to
investigate.
The wind is howling, and it’s bitterly
cold. You can see a giant mammoth statue
in the distance. Head up, to the front
of the train.
CHAPTER 7: THE DREAM WORLD
===========================================================
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE CAVE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CAVE
You’ve entered Hans’s dream, and you’re
sharing his memories, as he lies in his delirium state. He’s remembering that fateful day when as a
child, he fell… and nothing would ever be the same again.
Walk up into the cave.
Follow the top left path to the next
screen.
Look at the mammoth doll on the ground
to see a close-up.
Pick up the MAMMOTH DOLL, then
exit the close-up.
Head left, and follow the path along,
until you are outside the cave.
FOREST
Make your way down & left, then
follow the path along, past the boat, over the bridge, and keep going until you
reach the Courtyard area.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
COURTYARD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
COURTYARD
Anna Voralberg is waiting here.
Talk to Anna and work through all the
dialogue with her. When you’ve finished
talking to Anna, climb down the stairs on the left.
Head right, over the bridge, and into
town.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VALADALINE TOWN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STREET
Follow the street along, until you see a
gate on the right.
Walk over to the gate, to see a
close-up.
Go through the gate, into the Voralberg
Estate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VORALBERG ESTATE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FOUNTAIN
If you’ve played Syberia 1, you know
that the Estate is vast, and each path takes you to a different section.
Take the lower right path, leading to
the Voralberg mansion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
VORALBERG MANSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GROUNDS
Head up towards the mansion. You automatically open the front door, and
enter the lobby.
LOBBY
Walk down to the other end of the
lobby.
Ignore the Grandfather Clock for
now. Go through the doors on the right,
into the Study.
STUDY
Hans’s father is here. Talk to him and work through all the
dialogue. He clearly doesn’t think much
of poor Hans, and he won‘t even let you see Hans. He’s waiting until it’s time to go to the
factory. If you remember Hans’s
delirious ramblings from the Monastery, you’ll know that Mr Voralberg leaves
for the factory at 7.15. So if you could
convince him it IS 7.15, he’ll leave, and you’ll be able to see Hans. Leave the Study.
LOBBY
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Now the
Grandfather Clock isn’t working, so you’ll have to fix it. Look at the clock to realise that it has 2
parts to it - top and bottom.
Look at the top part of the clock - the
time shows 2.45pm. Exit the close-up and
look at the bottom part of the clock.
Click on the 2 mechanical men and the
bell - it’s stuck. You’ll need to change
the Roman Numeral display to show 2.45, to match the top part of the
clock. The left switch alters the time
by 15 minutes, and the right switch alters the time by 30 minutes. So flip the left switch 2 times, flip the
right switch 4 times, and flip the left switch again 1 time. Click on both mechanical men at the bell to
wind the clock up. Now you need to set
the clock to 7.15 - the time Hans’s father leaves to go to the factory. Flip the right switch 9 times, and flip the
left switch 1 time. Click on the
pendulum to set it swinging. Click on
the bell in between the 2 mechanical men.
Pull the right hand weight to hear the clock chime.
You see Hans’s father stand up, put
something on the table, then leave for the factory. Go through the doors on the right, into the
study.
STUDY
Click on the table to see a
close-up.
Pick up ATTIC KEY from the table,
then exit the close-up.
Leave the study.
LOBBY
Climb up the stairs to the 1st
Floor Landing.
1ST FLOOR LANDING
Use ATTIC KEY in the door to
unlock it. You automatically enter the
attic, where Hans is locked up.
ATTIC
Walk down to the other side of the
attic.
A young Hans is here, working on
something on the table at the back of the room.
Walk over to him.
Try to talk to the young Hans, but he
just ignores you. Give him the MAMMOTH
DOLL. That got his attention. Watch the cut scene, paying special attention
that he tells you that Oscar must ‘open his heart’. What could that mean? Hans disappears now, leaving you on your
own. Click on the table to see what Hans
was working on.
Something opens up on the table. You see a blinding light, and the dream
ends.
SPIRIT WOMAN’S HUT
You are back in the Healer’s Hut, along
with the Spirit Woman, and Hans.
