CHAPTER 9: PENGUIN ISLAND

ABOVE DECK
Watch the cut scene, as you crash into
the island. Walk left a few steps, and
have a quick chat with Hans.
Now climb down the ladder in the middle
of the Ark, so you are below deck.
BELOW DECK - SLEEPING QUARTERS
Awww, Youki is here, and he’s fast
asleep. Actually, he’s slept through the
whole trip. Try to open the door next to
the ladder, but it’s locked. Well,
there’s nothing you can do on the Ark at the moment, so climb back up the
ladder.
ABOVE DECK
Stand on the lift on the island side of
the Ark, and go down to the island.

PENGUIN ISLAND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PENGUIN ISLAND
Walk right, to the next screen.
Go left to the next screen.
Walk over to the noisy penguins, and try
to pick up the anchor that’s lying on the ground next to them.
This anchor belongs to your Ark. Unfortunately, it’s too heavy for you to
lift. Walk back right to the next
screen.
Walk right a few steps, and when you see
the giant Narwhal skeleton, head up to the next screen.
Look at the NARWHAL TUSK on the
ground, to get a close-up.
Pick up the NARWHAL TUSK, then
exit the close-up.
Head down, then left, so you are back
with the group of penguins next to the anchor on the ground.
Use NARWHAL TUSK with the anchor
to free it from the ice. The penguins
decide to move to a different spot. Your
Ark can move now, so let’s head back there.
Go up & right to the next screen.
Watch the short cut scene. Oh no, Ivan has boarded your Ark! And he’s raised the lift, so you can’t get
onboard. You can’t let him get away with
that! Go left, to the next screen.
There’s a long row of penguins on the
left. Take the upper path on the left,
to the next screen.
There’s a penguin nest on the ground
here. Look at it to get a close-up.
There are 2 eggs in the nest. That gives you an idea. You could use these to your advantage, in
order to get rid of Ivan. Place the RUSSIAN
DOLL into the nest, next to the penguin eggs. Watch the cut scene, as you call to the
penguins - they come over to inspect the new ‘egg’. While they are busy, go right, to the next screen.
Head right again, to the next
screen.
Watch the cut scene, as the ice beneath
your feet begins to crack. Use the NARWHAL
TUSK on the ice, to break it off completely. Watch the cut scene, as the ice floats around
to the back of the Ark, and you’re able to sneak back inside.

BELOW DECK - STORAGE ROOM
You find yourself in some kind of
storage room, and you can see Ivan stomping back & forth above you. Pull the lever near the beam.
It’s not very obvious at the moment, but
that lever raises and lowers a rope dangling through the hole in the ceiling,
and it will prove very useful in helping you get rid of Ivan! Walk left, to the other end of the room.
Look at both posters on the back wall - they’re clues you will need later.
Walk down, back to the other side of the
room.
Move the barrel that’s blocking the door
on the right, then open the door, and head through to the Sleeping
Quarters.
BELOW DECK - SLEEPING QUARTERS
Youki is still fast asleep. Chat to Hans if you like. Climb up the ladder next to Hans.
ANCHOR ROOM
Pick up the IVORY HOOK that’s
lying on the ground next to the window.
Click on the anchor to look at it.
When you’re ready, climb back down the ladder.
BELOW DECK - SLEEPING QUARTERS
Go back through the door at the top
left.
BELOW DECK - STORAGE ROOM
Climb up onto the barrel, so you can see
the ropes above you.
Use the IVORY HOOK on the beam,
just below where it goes through the hole.
It forms a hook. Click on the knot on the left, to tie it to
the hook. Exit the close-up.
Pull the lever behind the barrel.
Watch the cut scene, as Ivan is knocked
off the Ark. The penguins take his
actions as an act of aggression against their precious egg, and deal with him
accordinly!
Now you have the Ark back, you can
continue your journey.
