~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MAIN CABIN
Watch the intro. Your old law firm call you, asking you to
come back home. And Hans Voralberg asks
you to take him to Syberia… which you agree to.
The train comes to a stop in Romansberg,
and it needs to be wound again, before
it can continue. Walk up to the cabin
with the pedestal.
CABIN WITH PEDESTAL
There’s nothing you can do here at the
moment. Go right, to the Sleeping
Quarters.
SLEEPING QUARTERS
Walk down to the other end of the
room.
Hans Voralberg is here, tinkering away,
on his workbench. Talk to Hans and work
through all the dialogue with him. When
conversation is over, walk back down to the other side of the room.
Go up through the door to leave the
room.
CABIN WITH PEDESTAL
Nothing you can do here at the
moment. Go left to the Main Cabin.
MAIN CABIN
Walk down a step or two. Watch the cut scene, as Oscar calls you on
his mobile. Walk down to the other end
of the room.
Head up through the door at the top, to
leave the train.
TRAIN EXTERIOR
Leave the train via the exit on the
right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROMANSBURG PLATFORM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLATFORM
You are greeted by Colonel Emeliov, who
runs the General Store. He informs you that
this is the last stop before the glacial wasteland - the last bastion of
civilisation, as he refers to it. Then
he goes back into his shop. Enter the
shop on the right.
GENERAL STORE
Walk over to Colonel Emeliov, who is
standing in front of the counter at the back right wall. He appears to be fixing something, but you
can’t tell what.
Talk to him and work through all the
dialogue with him. When conversation is
over, walk down a few steps, and leave the shop.
PLATFORM
Go down to the next screen.
Walk right, onto the small platform, so
you are standing next to the coal dispenser.
Look at the coal dispenser to see a
close-up.
Pull the lever. A conveyer belt lowers over your train… but
there is no coal to dispense. Something
isn’t right. You automatically exit the
close-up.
Walk left, back to the main
Platform.
Head down to the next screen.
Oscar is here, examining his train. Talk to him and work through all the dialogue
with him. Look at the winding machine on
the left.
Look at the wheel on the winding machine
on the right. Turn the wheel, then pull
the lever to the left of the winding machine.
The train is now wound. Talk to Oscar to tell him that the train is
ready to leave. However, Oscar informs
you that, due to the cold weather, you will need to load the train with coal,
to keep yourself warm. But you’ve
already looked at the coal dispenser, and it doesn’t work. Why is nothing ever straightforward? Head
down, and follow the Platform along to the other end.
Look at the gate, to see a
close-up.
Look at the keyhole - the gate is
locked, so you can’t get through. Exit
the close-up.
Walk up & right to the next
screen.
Enter the General Store on the
right.
GENERAL STORE
Walk right a few steps, and talk to
Colonel Emeliov, who is now behind the counter.
Work through the dialogue with him.
He tells you that Maintenance people should be here in a week or 2, and
they can fix the coal dispenser then.
But you can’t wait that long! He
also tells you that he’s lost the key to the gate on the Platform. As you discuss the gate, he tells you all
about the lower part of town, and the upper part of the town. And how he considers the lower part as
‘undesirables‘. When conversation is
over, look at the counter on the right, to see a close-up.
There’s a broken candy machine
here. So THAT‘S what he was trying to
fix earlier. Take the SMALL KEY from
the black & red box. Now exit the
close-up.
Walk down a few steps, away from the
counter.
Look at the candy machines at the end of
the counter.
There are 3 candy machines. Candy machine #1 contains sugar candy. Candy machine #2 contains fish candy. Candy machine #3 contains coins. Interact with the candy machines like
so.
Candy
Machine 3
- Use SMALL KEY to unlock the drawer
at the bottom.
- Take COINS from the drawer.
Candy
Machine 1
- In Inventory, look at the COINS -
they appear at the top of
the
screen.
- Insert Coin #5 into the coin slot.
- Turn the handle
- Take SUGAR CANDY from the
drawer.
Candy
Machine 2
- In Inventory, look at the COINS -
they appear at the top of
the
screen.
- Insert Coin #2 into the coin slot.
- Turn the handle
- Take FISH CANDY from the
drawer.
Exit the close-up. Leave the shop.
PLATFORM
Walk down to the next screen.
Walk back onto the small platform
leading to the coal dispenser, so you can see the street below.
Look over the railing - a young girl
with a red balloon is standing on the ground below. She wasn’t there before. Talk to her and work through all the
dialogue. She tells you her name is
Malka. She knows who has the key to the
gate, but she won’t tell you, unless you give her a present. Okay then, give her your SUGAR CANDY. And in return, she ties the GATE KEY to
her balloon, and releases her balloon, so you can catch it. After she leaves, walk left, back to the main
Platform.
Head up 2 screens, to the end of the
Platform. Look at the gate, to see a
close-up.
Use GATE KEY with the gate to
unlock it. Climb down the stairs. Watch the cut scene. Your old office is not happy about your new
life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LOWER GROUND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STREET
Walk down & left, to the next
screen.
Malka is here. Talk to her and work through all the dialogue with her. She tells you the sad story of how Cirkos
takes care of her, ever since her mum died.
When you’ve finished talking to her, walk straight left, to the next
screen.
This is the base of the coal
machine.
You saw the top section earlier, when
you tried to load your train. Take the
red EMPTY CAN from one of the legs of the coal machine. Look at the petrol-driven generator. Pity there’s no petrol in it, so it wont’
move. Looks like you’ll need to find
fuel for it, Kate. Walk down, away from
the coal machine.
Head left, and continue left, until you
reach the fence.
Notice the big machine behind the
fence. Walk left a few steps, to the
gate.
Ring the bell on the fence, and watch
the cut scene with Ivan and Igor. Work
through all the dialogue with them. When
you ask them about gas for the coal machine, they claim not to have any. Igor isn’t very friendly! But they obviously DO have gas, because you
can see that the machine behind the fence is powered up. Well, if they’re not going to share their
gas, maybe you could sneak in, and find some for yourself. Walk left a few steps.
Look at the last poster on the
fence.
You see a close-up of the poster. Rip the poster off the fence, thus revealing
a gap in the fence. Climb through the
gap, into Ivan and Igor’s compound.
IVAN
AND IGOR’S COMPOUND
Look at the large crate, in the middle
of the ground.
You see a close-up of the crate, and 2
large eyes peeking out at you.
Who can resist those eyes? Open the crate, and release the creature
inside. This will keep Ivan distracted
for a while. Walk up, to the next
screen.
Take the JERRY CAN that’s sitting
on top of the barrel on the left, and you automatically fill up your empty oil
can. Now walk up to the next
screen.
This area is a bit more sheltered. Igor is lying on the settee - talk to him,
and watch the cut scene. You
automatically leave the compound, before Ivan catches you.
STREET
Head right, and continue right, until
you’re back at the area where Malka is standing. Head through the door on the right, into the
bar.
CIRKOS’S BAR
Walk left, to the other side of the
bar.
Talk to Cirkos, behind the bar counter,
and work through all the dialogue options.
When conversation is over, look at the clockwork wooden horses on the
right. You can’t do anything with them
yet, but you should look at them anyway.
Go back and talk to Circus again. Work through all the dialogue options. He tells you that his clockwork horses are no longer working. There’s nothing else you can do here at the moment, so head right, and leave the bar.
STREET
Walk directly left, to the coal
machine.
Look at the petrol generator, and pour
the JERRY CAN into the petrol generator.
You automatically replace the oil can where you found it. Now push the red button on the pillar on the
right, to turn it on. Now walk down to
the next screen.
Now the coal machine is fuelled, you
should be able to fuel your train. Head
up, towards Malka. Now go down &
right, towards the stairs. Finally,
climb up the stairs, back up to the platform.

ROMANSBURG PLATFORM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLATFORM
Head up, and follow the platform, until
you see the top section of the coal machine, on the right.
Walk right, onto the small platform, so
you are standing next to the coal dispenser.
Look at the coal dispenser to see a
close-up.
Pull the lever. A conveyer belt lowers over your train, and
this time, your train is filled with coal.
Watch the cut scene with Oscar.
It seems that Hans has disappeared.
You tell Oscar that you will go and look for him. Walk left, back to the main Platform.
Walk up to the next screen.
Enter Colonel Emeliov’s store, on the
right.
GENERAL STORE
Walk up to the counter.
Talk to Colonel Emeliov and work through
all the dialogue options. There’s
nothing more you can do here at the moment, so walk down, away from the
counter.
Leave the store through the door on the
left.
PLATFORM
Head up, to the top of the platform.
Climb down the stairs, to the Lower
Ground section.
Talk to Malka and ask her about
Hans. She tells you that Hans is in
Cirkos’s bar. Head through the door on
CIRKOS’S BAR
Watch the cut scene, as Hans
collapses. You take him back to the
train.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN

SLEEPING QUARTERS
Talk to Hans - he’s delirious, and he’s
not making much sense. Go up through the
door to leave the room.
CABIN WITH PEDESTAL
Nothing you can do here at the
moment. Go left to the Main Cabin.
MAIN CABIN
Watch the cut scene with Oscar. Walk down to the other side of the room.
Head up through the door at the top, to
leave the train.

Leave the train via the exit on the
right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROMANSBURG PLATFORM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLATFORM
Enter the store on the right.
GENERAL STORE
Walk up to the counter.
Talk to Colonel Emeliov and work through
all the dialogue options. You ask for
help for Hans, but the best he can offer, is to tell you about the Monks in the
monastery - maybe they could help Hans. When
you’re ready, walk down, then leave the store through the door on the left.
PLATFORM
Okay, you’re going to have to find this
Monastery that Colonel Emeliov mentioned.
Walk up, to the end of the platform.
Climb down the stairs, to the Lower
Ground section.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
LOWER GROUND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STREET
Walk left, to where Malka is
standing. Talk to Malka and work through
all the dialogue options. She also
mentions the Monastery, but she’s not a fan of the Monks, because her mum died
under the Monks care. Head through the
door on the right, into the bar.
CIRKOS’S BAR
Walk left, to the bar.
Talk to Cirkos and work through all the
dialogue options with him. He tells you
about the Monks strange custom of using a shroud to decide who they will help
and who they won’t help. When
conversation is over, go right, and leave the bar.
STREET
Talk to Malka again and work through all
the dialogue with her. She gives you a TOKEN. Now head up, and follow the path left, until
you reach the fence.
At the fence, head left, and continue
left, until the fence ends, and you see snow.
PATH TO MONASTERY
Brrr, it’s colder out here! Follow the path left & up, to the
bridge.
Look at the box on the right of the
bridge, to see a close-up.
This box contains the shrouds that you
need to present to the Monks in order to persuade them to help Hans. Pull the lever on the box - it’s stuck. Insert the TOKEN Malka gave you, into
the coin slot at the top right, then pull the handle. This time, it works, and the box opens. Take a SHROUD from the box, then exit
the close-up.
Cross left, over the bridge to the other
side. It’s getting a bit too cold
now. You’ll be needing some warmer
clothes. Head down & right, and make
your way back to where Malka is standing.
STREET
Go down & right, to the stairs.
Climb up the stairs, up to the
platform.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROMANSBURG PLATFORM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PLATFORM
Head up & right, to the next screen.
Enter the store, on the right.
GENERAL STORE
Go up to the counter.
Talk to Colonel Emeliov and work through
all the dialogue options. He agrees to
lend you some warm clothes, and pulls down the ladder leading to the attic for
you (you won‘t get this option unless you‘ve already tried to cross the
bridge). Talk to him again and finish
working through all the dialogue options.
Walk down a few steps.
Climb up the ladder, to the attic.
GENERAL STORE - ATTIC
Take the WINTER CLOTHES that are
lying on top of the crates on the left.
You just have to find somewhere appropriate, to change into them. Climb back down the ladder.
GENERAL STORE
Go down, away from the counter, then
leave the shop through the door on the left.
PLATFORM
Climb onto your train, on the left.

TRAIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN EXTERIOR
Head up through the door, into the Main
Cabin.
MAIN CABIN
Now before you change into the winter
clothes, remember what Malka said about needing an imprint of Hans’s face. Make your way along the train, to the
Sleeping Quarters.
SLEEPING QUARTERS
Hans is lying in the bed. Try and talk to him, but he’s delirious. Use the SHROUD on Hans to get an
imprint of his face, and it becomes HANS’S SHROUD. Now leave the Sleeping Quarters and return to
the Main Cabin.
MAIN CABIN
Go through the door on the left, into
the Bathroom.
Watch the cut scene, as you change into
the winter clothes. Toasty warm! Now you’re warm enough to travel to the
Now you need to find a way into the Monastery. Pull the rope in front of the wall to ring the bell.
Watch the cut scene. A monk peers down at you from high above, but
he won’t let you into the Monastery. But
you have to find SOME way to get inside!
Hans is depending on you to persuade the monks to heal him! Take the upper right path, and follow the
path along to the lake.
LAKE
A monk is here, washing his clothes in
the lake. Talk to the monk and work
through all the dialogue options. Notice
his interest in the bird calls of the Merula Alba. The monk tells you that women are not allowed
into the Monastery. So that’s why the
monk guard wouldn’t let you in when he peered down on you. Hmmm, you’ll have to find a disguise
then. Maybe you could use this monk’s
love of birds against him? But leave him
for now, and go back to the Monastery entrance.
PATH
Take the lower right path, then head all
the way back to the gate at the bottom of the stairs.
they can’t tell you’re a woman. Walk
down, away from the lake.
