INTRO

 

Watch the intro, as the villagers come to you, Gabriel Knight, to ask for help, after a werewolf kills a local child.

HUBER FARM INTERIOR

 

You have moved into the Huber’s farm.  Since you are the Schattenjager, they want you to help them find the werewolf that killed their child.  Take a look at all your Inventory items.  Explore the room.  Look at the cross on the wall.  Look at the china cabinet.  Search your bag on the floor, in front of the china cabinet.  Take DAGGERLETTER FROM RITTER FAMILY LAWYER, LETTER FROM GRACE, and WALLET from the bag.  Examine the DAGGER, and read both LETTERS in your Inventory.  Walk down, so you can see the other side of the living room. 

 

Look at the note on the coat rack on the left.  Take CAR KEYS from the shelf next to the door, under the mirror.  There’s a table next to the door.  Click on the notepad on the left side of the table to write a LETTER TO GRACE.  Click on the newspaper on the right side of the table to see the article about wolves in the local zoo.  When you’re ready, leave the farm through the wooden door, and head outside. 

 

 

 

 

HUBER FARM EXTERIOR

 

You’re outside the farmhouse.  Walk right to the next screen. 

 

Walk up to the log.  Examine the log to see that it’s a water trough.  Look at the ground next to the water trough, and look at the paw print in the ground - it‘s as big as your hand.  Exit the close-up.  Continue up to the woods. 

 

Search the ground near the entrance to the woods, and get RED HAIR from the ground.  You’re going to need help analysing it.  Return to the entrance of the farmhouse. 

 

Walk left to the shed, then enter the shed. 

 

Inside the shed, look at the packet of cement on the shelf.  You automatically mix up the cement in a bucket, so you have BUCKET OF CEMENT.  Leave the shed. 

 

Walk right, and go back to the log \ water trough.  Look at the muddy patch on the ground again to see the pay print.  Pour the BUCKET OF CEMENT onto the paw print.  You automatically take the bucket back to the shed. 

 

Leave the shed.  Return to the log \ water trough.  Look at muddy patch on the ground.  The cement has set, so take the PAW PRINT CAST from the ground.  Return to the entrance of the farmhouse. 

 

Time to pay a visit to the local zoo.  Maybe you can find an explanation for the red hair and the giant paw print there.  Look at the car in front of the farmhouse.  Use CAR KEYS with the car.

WOLF ENCLOSURE

 

Watch the cut scene as the zoo keeper feeds the wolf.  Look at the wolf information board on the right, and note that the species kept here is Canis Lupus Lupus.  Click on the wolf enclosure, then click on the wolves themselves.  Click on the wolves again - if you could get some hair from them, you could compare it with the red hair from the farm.  Leave the wolf enclosure.  Talk to Thomas, the zoo keeper, and work through all the dialogue.  When conversation is over, head left to Klingmann’s Office. 

 

 

 

 

KLINGMANN’S OFFICE

 

Talk to Herr Klingman and work through all the dialogue.  When conversation is over, leave the office. 

 

 

 

 

WOLF ENCLOSURE

 

You automatically return to the wolf enclosure.  Walk down to leave the zoo.

HUBER FARM EXTERIOR

 

You want to get a closer look at the wolves at the zoo, but you don’t have permission.  Time to get a little devious.  In the Control Panel area, click on the Tape icon at the bottom right. 

 

Load Klingman’s tape into Load A.  Load a blank tape into Load B.  Click on Splice.  Now click on Left and Right to scroll through your conversation with Klingmann, and click on the correct words to make the following sentence. 

 

 

        -       Thomas?  Herr Doktor Klingman here.  Show our

                wolves to Mr Knight. 

 

 

Click on the Transfer button, then click on Exit to leave the Tape Control Panel.  You now have a KLINGMANN SPLICE TAPE.  This splicing trick must be done here at the farm, not at the zoo, since you needed privacy to complete your little scheme.  Now use CAR KEYS with the car again.

WOLF ENCLOSURE

 

Walk left to Klingmann’s Office. 

 

 

 

 

KLINGMANN’S OFFICE

 

Herr Klingmann isn’t in his office.  Use this opportunity, and search his coat hanging on the coat stand to find a RECEIPT.  Look at RECEIPT in your Inventory.  Turn it over and look at the carbon on the  back.  Unfortunately, it’s written backwards, so you can’t make out what it says.  Look at the walkie talkie on the right edge of the desk, and use KLINGMANN SPLICE TAPE with the walkie talkie.  Your sneaky message is transmitted over to Thomas at the Wolf Enclosure. 

 

 

 

 

WOLF ENCLOSURE

 

Watch the cut scene as Thomas takes you into the Wolf Enclosure.  Look at the name tag on the wolf.  Now click on the wolf again to get some GREY WOLF HAIR.  Walk down to leave the zoo.

Look at the mirror on the wall next to the door, and use RECEIPT with the mirror.  The mirror reflects the carbon print so you can read it now.  You get a new address.  Leave the farmhouse.

The Marienplatz is a nice area.  Walk left to the next screen. 

 

Walk through the stone doorway, then enter into Ubergrau’s Office. 

 

 

 

 

UBERGRAU’S OFFICE

 

Herr Ubergrau is the family lawyer that represents you here in Germany.  Talk to him and work through all the dialogue.  When conversation is over, leave the office. 

 

Back out in the street, head right, and continue right, until you reach the street musicians.  Look in the shop windows along the way if you like. 

 

Walk up to Dienerstrasse 

 

 

 

 

DIENERSTRASSE

 

Go to the Post Office on the right.  Click your LETTER TO GRACE on the door, to post it. 

 

After you post the letter, walk up the street to the next screen. 

 

Click on 54 Dienerstrasse, on the right. 

 

Enter 54 Dienerstrasse, so you are in the Hunt Club. 

 

 

 

 

HUNT CLUB FRONT HALL

 

Talk to Xavier, the Doorman, and work through all the dialogue.  He refuses you entry, since he doesn‘t believe you‘re from an established German family.  You have no choice, but to leave. 

 

 

 

 

DIENERSTRASSE

 

Walk down 2 screens, back to the street musicians. 

 

 

 

 

MARIENPLATZ

 

Head left, and make your way back to Ubergrau’s Office. 

 

 

 

 

UBERGRAU’S OFFICE

 

Talk to Herr Ubergrau and work through the dialogue.  He’s willing to give you a copy of the RITTER FAMILY PAPERS, but it will take a while to locate.  Leave the office. 

 

 

 

 

MARIENPLATZ

 

Walk down to the next screen, then continue down to return to the train station and leave Marienplatz.

Talk to the Duty Sergeant, and ask to speak to Commissar Leber.  Despite the language problem, it’s clear that Commissar Leber is busy, and can‘t talk to you.  Leave the Police Station.

BIOLOGY LAB

 

Michael, the lab assistant, tells you that he will perform any analysis you need.  Show PAW PRINT CAST to Michael - he confirms it’s a wolf paw print, but he can’t tell what species of wolf.  Show GREY WOLF HAIR to Michael - he confirms that it‘s grey wolf hair.  Show RED HAIR to Michael - he thinks it may belong to a wolf-dog hybrid.  That’s all you can do here, so leave the lab.  As you are leaving, Michael gives you an ANALYSIS REPORT of his findings.

Enter the Hunt Club.

Talk to Xavier and work through the dialogue.  Show him RITTER FAMILY PAPERS.  Well, you’ve proved your heritage, but apparently you still need to be invited into the club, before you can become a member.  Baron Von Glower comes to your rescue, and invites you to join the club. 

 

 

 

 

HUNT CLUB MAIN HALL

 

Watch the cut scene to end Chapter 1.  Things are getting interesting.
