SCHLOSS RITTER CASTLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GABRIEL’S BEDROOM
You
meet Gerde, and move into Gabriel’s bedroom. Examine all your Inventory
items. Explore the bedroom. Examine the wardrobe, and see that it‘s
empty. Look out the window. Talk to the workman at the
fireplace. Walk down, so you can see the other side of the bedroom.
Look
at the 3 decorations above the bed. Try to open the door next to the bed,
only to discover that it’s locked. Walk down to the window side of the
bedroom again.
Leave
the bedroom through the door on the right.
MAIN HALL
You
automatically make your way down the stairs to the Main Hall. Gerde is
sitting at her desk. Talk to her and work through all the dialogue with
her. Walk towards the front door on the right, then leave the castle
through the front door.
EXTERIOR
Click
on the car. This is Gabriel’s car, so you don’t have the keys for
it. Head left, and walk down the path to Rittersberg Town Square.
TOWN SQUARE
Click
on the green bush in front of you, that’s between the ornate church doors and
the fountain. Click on the small white flower bush to get a
close-up. Click on the small white flower bush again, and you will
comment about what kind of flowers these are. Exit the close-up.
Click
on the ornate church doors to enter the church.
ST GEORG CHURCH INTERIOR
Try
to talk to Father Getz, who is standing next to you. Unfortunately, he
doesn’t speak English, and your German isn’t good enough to communicate with
him. Walk up towards the front of the church.
Click
on the door at the back right area.
You’re
in a room full of coffins. Click on each of the coffins to learn that
they all belong to previous Schattenjagers. One of the coffins has a
silver heart placed on it. Look at the silver heart - someone must have
left it as a mourning gift. When you’re ready, leave the coffins, leave
the church, and return to the Town Square.
TOWN SQUARE
Walk
right a few steps, and click on the blue door behind the fountain.
RATHAUS (TOWN HALL)
Click
on the blue door on the left to get a close-up, then knock on the door.
The Mayor answers - talk to him and work through all the dialogue with
him. He knows a lot about the history of Rittersberg. When
conversation is over, step away from the door.
Click
on the blue door on the right if you like, but it’s locked. Walk down,
back to the Town Square.
TOWN SQUARE
Click
on the door on the far right, and enter the bar.
GASTHOF GOLDENER LOVE BAR
Talk
to Herr Huber, the Innkeeper, and work through all the dialogue with him.
When conversation is over, look at both paintings on the wall, near the
counter. When you’re ready, leave the bar.
TOWN SQUARE
Walk
left a few steps, then click on the blue door behind the fountain again.
RATHAUS (TOWN HALL)
Knock
on the door on the left. Talk to the Mayor and ask about Trial
Records. Unfortunately, he can’t help you, since you don’t have a date to
refer to. Leave the Mayor for now.
TOWN SQUARE
Walk
left a few steps, and head up the path behind the fountain, so you‘re back at
the castle.
SCHLOSS RITTER CASTLE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXTERIOR
Enter
the castle.
MAIN HALL
Gerde
is still sitting at her desk. Talk to her and ask her about the car keys
for Gabriel’s car - she refuses to give them to you. Climb up the stairs
to Gabriel’s Bedroom.
GABRIEL’S BEDROOM
The workman has gone now. Click on the fireplace to get a
close-up. Click on the toolbox on the right side of the fireplace, and
take SCREWDRIVER from
the toolbox. Look up, and look at the hole in the fireplace. Look
at the hole again. Use SCREWDRIVER in
the hole - you trigger a secret button.
Open
the wardrobe - wow, you found a secret passage. Enter the secret
passage.
PASSAGEWAY
Follow
the passage right, and you find yourself in Gerde’s Bedroom.
GERDE’S BEDROOM
Explore the bedroom. Look at desk in front of the window,
to see a photo of Wolfgang. Open the wardrobe, look at Gerde’s clothes,
and take the LIBRARY
KEY that’s hanging next to the clothes. Open the
wardrobe again, and enter the secret passage.
PASSAGEWAY
Head
up through the path in the back wall.
You
find yourself in some kind of garden, outside the castle. Look at rose
bush on the right. Look at Emergency Exit on the left. Head left to
the side of the castle.
Look
at the castle - it looks huge from here. There’s nothing you can do here,
so walk right, back to the passage entrance.
Enter
through the door, into the passage again.
Walk
left, back to Gabriel’s Bedroom.
GABRIEL’S BEDROOM
Walk
down to the other side of the bedroom.
Use LIBRARY
KEY in the door next to the bed, then enter the
Library.
LIBRARY
Explore the Library. Search the middle section of the
bookshelves. This is the Occult section, and you find the BOOK ON LYCANTHROPES.
Inside the book, you find a LETTER
TO KING LUDWIG II. Gerde catches you in the Library, and
realises that you’ve been snooping in her room - that‘s how you found the key
to the library. You loose your temper at her, causing her to leave the
Library in tears, and agreeing that you will do research for Gabriel from now
on. Poor Gerde! After the confrontation, look at BOOK ON LYCANTHROPES in
your Inventory, and read through it. Also, read the LETTER TO KING LUDWIG II.
Search
the left section of the bookshelves. This section contains
Biographies. You find a biography on Ludwig II, but it’s in German, so
it’s not much help to you.
Search the right section of the bookshelves to find THE JOURNAL OF VICTOR RITTER.
Read the book in your Inventory, and note the date at the end. Search the
right section of the bookshelves again, and you find THE JOURNAL OF CHRISTIAN RITTER.
Read through it in your Inventory.
Click on the desk on the right to sit down. Look at papers
on the left. Look at the typewriter, and look at the book lying next to
it. Look at the phone on the right. Use PROFESSOR BARCLAY’S CARD with
the phone to call him. Sadly, you haven’t taken the time difference into
account, and you wake him up in the middle of the night! Nevertheless,
you ask him for help with King Ludwig II - he informs you that he’ll confer
with his friend, then get back to you. Exit the close-up, and leave the Library.

Walk
down to the window side of the bedroom. Leave the bedroom.
