~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TRAIN - MAIN CABIN

Walk down to the other side of the cabin.

Oscar’s not here.  He must still be in the Engine Room.  Open the door and leave the cabin.

TRAIN - EXTERIOR

Leave the train via the exit on the right.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TRAIN STATION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

KOMKOLZGRAD STATION

Go up towards the front of the train.

Oscar calls for you, telling you that the train has unwound again.  He also tells you that he fears leaving the train,  because the air is too polluted.  Work through all the dialogue options with Oscar.  Walk left to the next screen.

There’s a door in the building to the right, with a red light above it - walk over to the door.

Try to open the door, but it’s locked.  Walk down, back to the platform.

Go right, to the next screen.

Climb up the ladder on the left, and up into the giant cowboy automaton.

GIANT COWBOY AUTOMATON

You’re inside the giant cowboy.  Click on the cupboard at the back, to see a close-up.

Take KOMKOLZGRAD VOICE CYLINDER from the small cupboard.  Take HANS’S DESIGNS from the small cupboard.  Take HANDLE from the small cupboard.  Look at HANS’S DESIGNS in your Inventory, and note that the right foot of the giant cowboy has been marked.  Exit the close-up.

Look at the Control Panel under the window on the right, to see a close-up.  Notice the red button in the Control Panel.  That cross shape looks like the end of a winding machine.  HANS’S DESIGNS also have that same cross shape.  So could there be a winding machine hidden inside the giant cowboy?  Insert the HANDLE into the slot in the Control Panel.

Click above the HANDLE, and watch the cut scene, as the giant cowboy moves forward, towards the train.  Again, click above the HANDLE, and watch, as the giant cowboy moves forward.  Press the red button, and watch the cut scene as the winding machine winds up the train.  That was easy!  You can continue your journey now, Kate.  Let’s go an tell Oscar.  Click below the HANDLE, to make the giant cowboy move back, away from the train.  Again, click below the HANDLE to make the giant cowboy move back.  Now it’s back where it started from.  Exit the close-up.

Walk down, and leave the giant cowboy.

Climb down the ladder, so you are back on the platform.

KOMKOLZGRAD STATION

Watch the cut scene - you see a suspicious character leaving your train, and heading off towards a building with the same locked door you found earlier.  What was that all about?

Head up, and follow the path along, until you’re back at your train.  Continue along to the next screen.

Board the train.

TRAIN - EXTERIOR

Open the door and enter the cabin.

TRAIN - MAIN CABIN

Walk down to the other end of the cabin.

Head up to the cabin with the pedestal.

TRAIN - CABIN WITH PEDESTAL

Insert KOMKOLZGRAD VOICE CYLINDER into the pedestal, and watch the cut scene with Anna And Hans after the war.  You automatically place the CYLINDER in the display cabinet.  Continue right to the Sleeping Quarters.

TRAIN - SLEEPING QUARTERS

Oh no!  Oscar has been tied up here!  Untie him.  Watch the cut scene, as he tells you how he was attacked.  And look at his arms - someone took his hands!  It must have been the suspicious character you saw running from the train.  Poor Oscar is understandably very upset!  Work through all the dialogue options with him.  You’ll need to get his hands back!  When you’ve finished talking, walk down to the other end of the cabin, so you can see your suitcase at the end of your bed.

Pick up METAL SHEARS from the floor.  Go through the door at the top, to leave the cabin.

TRAIN - CABIN WITH PEDESTAL

Walk left, to the Main Cabin.

TRAIN - MAIN CABIN

Go down to the other end of the cabin.

Open the door, and leave the cabin.

TRAIN - EXTERIOR

Leave the train via the Exit on the right.

TRAIN STATION

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
KOMKOLZGRAD STATION
Head up, and continue along the platform, until you reach the giant cowboy.
Climb up the ladder on the left, and up into the giant cowboy automaton again.
GIANT COWBOY AUTOMATON
Look at the Control Panel under the window on the right, to see a close-up.
Click above the HANDLE, and watch the cut scene, as the giant cowboy moves forward, towards the train.  Exit the close-up.
Walk down, and leave the giant cowboy.
KOMKOLZGRAD STATION
You find yourself halfway down the ladder.  Jump onto the ledge on the right.  Look at the metal panel in the wall on the right, to see a close-up.
There’s a large hole in the metal panel.  You can see a Hideout behind the hole, but the hole is not large enough for you to climb through… yet.  Use the METAL SHEARS with the metal panel to cut a little doorway.  Now climb through the doorway, into the Hideout.
HIDEOUT
Walk down to the other side of the Hideout.
Look at the shelves on the left, and take the SPARK PLUG.  Try to open the door in the back wall - you can’t go that way.  Look through the window in the back wall to see a factory.  Exit the close-up.  Walk down to the ‘Entrance’ to the room.
Climb through the doorway you created, so you are back outside.
KOMKOLZGRAD STATION
Jump left, onto the stairs.  Climb up the ladder, and enter the giant cowboy automatic again.
GIANT COWBOY AUTOMATON
Look at the Control Panel under the window on the right, to see a close-up.
Click below the HANDLE, and watch the cut scene, as the giant cowboy returns to it‘s original position.  Exit the close-up.
Walk down, and leave the giant cowboy.
KOMKOLZGRAD STATION
You automatically climb down the ladder, back to the platform.  Head up, and continue along the platform, past the train, until you reach the screen with all the boxes.
Look carefully at the covered section of the platform, and notice the lever on the ground, between 2 pillars.
Pull the lever - a lift rises up from the ground.  Enter the lift.  You automatically push the button to lower the lift again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

UNDERGROUND MINE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TUNNEL
The lift takes you down into a mine.  You get a phone call from Dan, but the signal is bad, and you can barely make out what he’s saying.  You hang up, promising to call him back later.  It’s dark here, but look at the generator on the left, to see a close-up.
Look at the slot at the top of the generator - it looks like something is missing.  Insert SPARK PLUG into the slot.  Now pull the lever in front of the slot with the SPARK PLUG.
The mine powers up, and the lights come one.  Yippee!  Follow the path all the way down to the other end of the mine.
There’s another lift here.  Enter the lift, and ride up to the Factory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

FACTORY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PATHWAY
Let’s explore the Factory.  Go right to the next screen.
There’s stairs leading up to a huge pipe organ.  Climb up the stairs.
PIPE ORGAN
The organ itself, and the organ player, are in the middle of the screen.  Click on them to see a close-up.
Notice the organ player’s hands - those are OSCAR’S hands!  You have to get them back, somehow.  Pick up the SCREWDRIVER from the left edge of the organ.  Exit the close-up.
Climb back down the stairs on the left.
PATHWAY
Walk down, towards the lift.
Don’t enter the lift just now.  Instead, head down to the next screen.
Notice the door in the wall here - that’s the same door you saw from outside, with the red light above it.  Go left, to the next screen.
Notice the ladder here, near the left, with a small panel near the bottom, which is preventing you from climbing the ladder.  Look at the small panel to see a close-up.
Notice that the small panel is held in place by a screw in each corner.  Use your SCREWDRIVER to unscrew all 4 screws, so that it falls to the ground.
Climb up the ladder.
UP THE LADDER
Look at the monorail in front of you - it’s controlled from somewhere else.  Open the door on the left, and enter the Control Room.
CONTROL ROOM
Someone is sitting in the chair here - the same suspicious character you saw leaving your train earlier.  So this is the culprit that stole Oscar’s hands.  Click on him to talk to him - he explains that he didn’t steal Oscar’s hands… he only borrowed them for a while.  Work through all the dialogue options with him.  He introduces himself as Serguie Borodine, Director Of Komkolzgrad Industrial City.
You learn about Serguie’s fascination with the opera singer, Helena Romanski, and how he longs for her to return to Komkolzgrad to sing for him.  Only when he hears her sing, will he return Oscar’s hands.  There’s just one small problem… Helena isn’t expected to return here any time soon, so you’ll have to go and find her, wherever she is.
So… a mysterious man, obsessed with an opera singer, and wants her to sing only for him?  Phantom Of The Opera, anyone?
When you’re ready, walk down, and leave the Control Room.
UP THE LADDER
Climb back down the ladder.
PATHWAY
There’s a small room to the right that Serguie has opened for you.
Enter this room.
HELENA ROMANSKI SHRINE
Wow!  Serguie wasn’t kidding when he said he’s fascinated with Helena - the whole room’s a shrine to her.  Pictures of her on the wall… old costumes she wore at past performances… you name it.  Walk down to the other end of the room.
Continue up, through the  curtain, to the staged Dressing Room area.
Notice the chest of drawers on the left.  Open the drawers to see a close-up.
Pick up the PRESS CUTS SCRAPBOOK, and read through it.  It’s full of articles and pictures of her performances.  One of the articles mentions her singing with her friend, Franck Malkovitch.  Hmmm… Franck Malkovitch… where have you heard that name before?  Wasn’t he the singer your mum is friendly with?  Maybe you could clarify that?  Exit the close-up.
Pick up the LETTERS TO HELENA that were in the drawer, underneath the PRESS CUTS SCRAP BOOK.  All the LETTERS have been ‘Returned To Sender, Not Known At This Address‘.  Read the top LETTER - he’s been obsessed with her for quite some time, it seems.  When you’re ready, exit the close-up.  Also exit the close-up with the chest of drawers.
Use your MOBILE PHONE, and call your mum.  She confirms that her friend Franck, and the Franck that sang with Helena, are indeed one and the same.  She also tells you, via Frank, that Helena was ill, and moved to a Health Spa in the town of Aralbad.  Great!  Now you know where she is!  When you’re ready, head up, and make your way out of the shrine.
PATHWAY
Climb up the ladder on the left again.
UP THE LADDER
You get a phone call from Dan.  At first, it seems like he regrets the argument you both had.  But it turns out, he just wanted to save face in front of his office colleagues.  When you’ve finished talking to him, open the door on the left, and enter the Control Room.
CONTROL ROOM
Talk to Serguie and work through all the dialogue options with him.  Apparently, he can’t help you get to Aralbad to talk to Helena.  But if you can get up to the Space Compound above Komkolzgrad, you might be able to find a way to fly to Aralbad.  When you’re ready, leave the Control Room.
UP THE LADDER
Enter the monorail at the back, which is now accessible to you.  The monorail takes you up to the Cosmodrome.
