NICO’S APARTMENT

Talk to Nico and show her the CHALICE.  Exit the conversation and leave her apartment.

PARIS - MONTFAUCON (GEORGE)

STREET

Talk to the officer at the table if you like, but he doesn’t have anything interesting to say.  Climb up the stairs on the right, and enter the cathedral.

CATHEDRAL

Talk to the Priest and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Let him take the CHALICE to polish it up.  Look at the stained glass window on the right.  Look at the windows on either side of the stained glass window.  Look at the stone knight’s tomb at the back wall.  Look at the statue of the knight holding a scroll, on the ground in front of the stained glass window.  Use the knight statue - if he‘s holding any secrets, he‘s concealing them pretty well.  Look at the scroll that the knight statue is holding, and insert your LENS into the scroll.  Look at the scroll again.  You see another inscription, as well as a scrambled image of the stained glass window.  Here, you have to slide 3 elements of the picture into the correct position, by moving the 3 tabs around the circle.  Use the raised arm on the left, and the date at the bottom, as a guide.  When it’s aligned correctly, you’ll see a clear picture of a burning knight, along with a date.

The date at the bottom is shown in Roman Numerals, and it converts into 1314.  Talk to the Priest again, and he gives you the CHALICE back.  Work through all the conversation topics with him.  Exit the conversation.  Look at the stone knight’s tomb on the back wall again.  Now that you’re attention has been drawn to it, this is definitely the final resting place of Don Carlos.  As you look at the tomb, you need to highlight the following biblical references.

        -       John, 4, 11

        -       Psalms, 22, 21

        -       Psalms, 32, 7

        -       Corinthians 14, 5

Walk left, and leave the Cathedral.

STREET

Look at the workman.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Look at the pot of paint on the ground next to him, and note that the colour is gun metal.  Head through the gate on the right, into the Basement.

BASEMENT

Look at the Guard.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Explore the area.  Look at the excavation door behind the Guard.  Look at the utility cupboard on the left.  Look at the thermostat and radiator on the left.  Look at the phone on the back wall.  Look at the bathroom door on the right.  Talk to the Guard again and work through all the conversation topics.  He gives you a KEYRING WITH KEYS.  Exit the conversation.  Use KEYRING WITH KEYS with the bathroom door on the right to unlock it, then enter the bathroom.

BATHROOM

Look at the sink, and pick up bar of soap from the sink.  Maybe you could use this to create a copy of the Guard’s key.  Use the KEYRING WITH KEYS with the bar of soap to create an imprint.  Use your PLASTER OF PARIS with the bar of soap to fill the imprint with plaster.  Use the sink to mix the plaster of paris into cement.  Finally, use the hand dryer to dry out the cast.  You now have a PLASTER COPY OF THE EXCAVATION KEY.  But since it’s made of plaster, it’s too fragile to be of any use.  Leave the bathroom.

BASEMENT

Talk to the Guard again, and return his KEYRING WITH KEYS to him.  Exit the conversation.  Now climb up the stairs on the right to leave the Basement.

STREET

Try to use PLASTER COPY OF THE EXCAVATION KEY with the can of paint on the ground next to the workman, but he won‘t let you.  Okay, maybe you could distract him somehow?  Head through the gate on the right again.

BASEMENT

Use the phone on the back wall to call Nico.  Now climb up the stairs on the right.

STREET

Talk to the workman and tell him that he’s got a phone call.  When he leaves, use PLASTER COPY OF THE EXCAVATION KEY with the can of paint on the ground.  It may look convincing now, but it’s still just plaster.  Head through the gate on the right.

BASEMENT

Talk to the Guard, and ask about the bathroom.  He gives you his KEYRING WITH KEYS again.  Use KEYRING WITH KEYS with the bathroom door on the right, then enter the bathroom.

BATHROOM

In the bathroom, away from the Guard’s eyes, swap the KEYRING WITH KEYS with the PLASTER COPY OF THE EXCAVATION KEY in your Inventory.  Leave the bathroom.

BASEMENT

Don’t return the keys to the Guard yet - he will immediately feel that the plaster key is not real.  Make sure you’ve spoken to him about the thermostat.  Use the thermostat on the left wall to turn it off.  The Guard gets cold, and puts on his gloves to keep warm.  Now return KEYRING WITH KEYS to him.  Since he’s wearing the gloves, he won’t feel that the keys are different.  Exit the conversation.  Now use the phone on the back wall to call Nico again.  You automatically make your way up to the street.

STREET

Watch the cut scene.  Head through the gate on the right.

BASEMENT

The Guard isn’t here anymore.  Use EXCATION KEY with the excavation door on the left, and enter through the door.

EXCAVATION SITE

Climb down the ladder.  Look at the giant Idol Of Baphomet, which is underneath the platform.  Look at the pattern at the base of the Idol.  Use CHALICE with the pattern.  The curved surface of the CHALICE distorts the pattern on the floor, and changes it into a picture of a church.  You automatically return to Nico’s apartment.

VILLA GARDENS

Talk to the Gardener and ask about the Countess.  Show him the CHALICE.  Exit the conversation.  Head left, and enter the Villa.

ENTRANCE HALL

Take MIRROR from the small Utility Room on the left.  Climb up the stairs to the Countess’s Room.

COUNTESS’S ROOM

Look at the Countess - she seems a lot happier than the last time you saw her.  Talk to her and work through all the conversation topics.  Exit the conversation.  Leave her room.

ENTRANCE HALL

Go through door on the right to leave the Villa.

VILLA GARDENS

Walk right a few steps, and head down the path towards the Mausoleum.

Enter the Mausoleum.

MAUSOLEUM

Look at the BIBLE on the lectern on the left.  Take the BIBLE from the lectern.  Look at it in your Inventory - it‘s a Spanish bible, so you can‘t understand it.  Leave the Mausoleum.

VILLA GARDENS

Walk left to return to the main garden.

Head left, and enter the Villa.

ENTRANCE HALL

Climb up the stairs to the Countess’s Room.

COUNTESS’S ROOM

Give the BIBLE to the Countess.  You tell her the bible references you found earlier, while she looks up the references and translates them for you.  However, you are both stumped by reference to a well.  Exit the conversation.  Leave her room.

ENTRANCE HALL

Go through door on the right to leave the Villa.

VILLA GARDENS

Walk right a few steps, and talk to the Gardener.  Work through all the conversation topics with him.  He tells you that there used to be a well somewhere in the grounds, but he needs time to think about how to find exactly where it was.  Exit the conversation.  Head down the path towards the Mausoleum.

Enter the Mausoleum.

MAUSOLEUM

Look at the candle that’s hanging from the ceiling.  Look at the long pole that’s leaning against the wall on the left.  Look at the window high up in the dome on the left.  Use SOGGY TISSUE with the long pole, and watch the cut scene as you light the candle.  A breeze from the window blows the candle out.  Click on the window - you use the long pole to close it.  Again, use SOGGY TISSUE with the long pole, and watch the cut scene as you light the candle.  This time, the candle burns down quickly, revealing a CARVED STONE KEY.  Leave the Mausoleum.

VILLA GARDENS

Walk left to return to the main garden.

Talk to the Gardener if you like.  Head left, and enter the Villa.

ENTRANCE HALL

Climb up the stairs to the Countess’s Room.

COUNTESS’S ROOM

Show CARVED STONE KEY to the Countess.  Exit the conversation.  Leave her room.

ENTRANCE HALL

Go through door on the right to leave the Villa.

VILLA GARDENS

Talk to the Gardener and ask about the well again.  He tells you that you must dowse for water using a special dowsing stick made from hazel.  Look at the hazel tree in the background.  Search the hazel try to try a find a ‘Y’ shaped branch - there isn’t any branches like that on this tree.  Walk left, to where the hose comes out from the wall.  Search the hazel tree in the corner.  You have more luck this time, and you manage to find a ‘Y’ SHAPED HAZEL BRANCH.  Walk right a few steps, and show ‘Y’ SHAPED HAZEL BRANCH to the Gardener.  Watch the cut scene as you use the diving rod to find the well.  The Gardener lowers you down into the well.

DOWN THE WELL

Look at the back wall.  Look at the rock slide on the left.  Look at the lion’s head on the right, then pull the fang in the lion’s head.  A door slides open, and a wall of stones almost crushes you.  Luckily, you’re not seriously injured.  Try to enter the door on the right, but it‘s pitch black, and you can‘t see anything.  Use MIRROR with the back wall to reflect the light from above into the door on the right.  Look through the door on the right to see a socket.  Insert CARVED STONE KEY into the socket.  The key turns, and you see some strange buttons and dials.

This is a tedious puzzle.  The dials contain roman numerals, and you have to turn the dials in order to highlight certain dates you found in the bible references earlier.  Press the buttons like so.

        -       Bottom right button, 6 times

Wait a few seconds.  The door clicks open.  Head right, through the door, into the Templars Secret Hiding Place.

TEMPLARS SECRET HIDING PLACE

Watch the cut scene.  You found the missing children that the Countess told you about, as well as the her lost chess piece.  You automatically make your way back to Nico’s apartment.

YOU & NICO’S COMPARTMENT

Talk to the passenger on the bench opposite and work through all the conversation topics.  Show her all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Stand up, and try to leave the compartment.  Watch the cut scene with the conductor.  After the conductor leaves, stand up again, and leave the compartment.

AISLE

Enter the next compartment on the left - the compartment with the man in the black & white striped t-shirt.

MAN IN BLACK & WHITE STRIPED T-SHIRT COMPARTMENT

Talk to the man in the black & white striped t-shirt and ask about his drink.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Try to open the window, but the man stops you.  Walk down to leave the compartment.

AISLE

Walk left, into the next carriage.

Oh no!  You see Guido, one of the thugs that threatened earlier.  You should warn Nico.  Walk right, back to the 1st carriage.

Walk right a few steps, and return to your own compartment.

YOU & NICO’S COMPARTMENT

Nico has vanished.  And so has the old woman from the bench opposite.  Leave the compartment.

AISLE

Enter the next compartment on the left again - the compartment with the man in the black & white striped t-shirt.

MAN IN BLACK & WHITE STRIPED T-SHIRT COMPARTMENT

Talk to the man in the black & white striped t-shirt and work through all the conversation topics.  Exit the conversation.  Open the window, then climb out through the window, and on to the top of the train.

TOP OF THE TRAIN

Head right, to the next carriage.

Climb down the ladder, and enter the storage compartment.

STORAGE COMPARTMENT

Nico is tied up here.  The old woman is also here, and she is not all she seemed to be.  In fact, she reveals herself to none other than… Khan in disguise.  He deals with one of the thugs, but gets shot in the process.  Pull the Emergency Brake on the left.  Watch the cut scene as Khan tells you about the Knights Templar.  Ask him about the Bull‘s Head.  Exit the conversation.  Khan wants to tell you one more thing, but he dies before he can finish.  R.I.P. Khan!

Nico is still tied up.  Use this opportunity to kiss her.  Now leave the train through the door on the left.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SCOTLAND - STIRLING CASTLE (GEORGE)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

RUINS

You & Nico walk through the night, and by the next morning, you reach Stirling Castle.  Go through door on the right, into the tower.

TOWER

Search the rubble several times, to find a CLAY PIPE, an OLD COIN, a COG & SPINDLE, and a PLASTIC PEN TOP.  Turn the HANDLE in the winding mechanism on the right, next to Nico - the HANDLE comes off in your hands.  Take the COG & SPINDLE from the winding mechanism (you have 2 of them now).  Look at the gargoyle next to the door.  Look at the gargoyle’s mouth & eyes.  Insert both of your COG & SPINDLES into the gargoyle’s eyes.  Insert the HANDLE into the gargoyle’s mouth.  You turn the HANDLE, which opens the panel on the right.  Follow Nico through the panel, into the catacombs.

CATACOMBS

You realise that the Templars have already been here.  Go through doorway on the right.

Watch the long cut scene, as the Templar Brotherhood vow to start a new Order, in which they rule.  Eventually, you end up back at the entrance to the catacombs.

CATACOMBS

You are confronted by Guido.  Grab the torch from the wall next to you (at the door on the right), and throw it onto the dynamite.  Watch the cut scene, as you & Nico make your daring escape, ending the threat of the Knights Templar once and for all.
