PART 2: THE JOURNEY
============================================================
CAPTAIN’S CABIN
After some complaining from your crew, you begin Part 2 in the Captain’s
Cabin. This is YOUR cabin! This would be a good time to look at the
literature you got from Stan. Look at PAMPHLET. Look
at LEAFLEFT. Look at BROCHURE. Hmmm,
interesting stuff. Now, note the fancy desk. Open drawer of the
desk, and look in the drawer to find a DUSTY BOOK. Read
the DUSTY BOOK, to see the Captain’s Log, as the Captain, and
Toothrot, sail to Monkey Island. You also gain a BOOKMARK.
Pick up FEATHER PEN and pick up INK from the
desk. Now leave the cabin.
SHIP’S DECK
Talk to the
mutinous crew if you like, but they refuse to do anything to help. Climb
up the rope ladder, up to the Crow’s Nest Look-Out Point.
CROW’S NEST LOOK-OUT POINT
Pick up the JOLLY ROGER FLAG, then climb back down to the
ship’s deck.
SHIP’S DECK
Look carefully for
the hatch, which is right next to the mast. It’s a bit hard to see, but
it’s there. Climb down through the hatch, to the Crew Sleeping
Quarters.
CREW SLEEPING QUARTERS
Go through door,
into the kitchen.
KITCHEN
Open cupboard on the left, and take some CEREAL. Look
at CEREAL in your Inventory, then open CEREAL to
find the PRIZE. Look at PRIZE to realise
that it’s a SMALL KEY. Take POT from below
the window. Now climb up the ladder, back to the Crew Sleeping
Quarter.
CREW SLEEPING QUARTERS
Climb down through
hatch in the middle of the floor, to the Ship’s Hold.
SHIP’S HOLD
It’s pretty damp down here. Have a look around, if you like.
Look at kegs on the left. Pick up kegs to get some GUNPOWDER.
Pick up GIANT PIECE OF ROPE, which is draped over barrels at the
front. Look at chest in the lower right. Look in chest to find
some FINE WINE. Climb up ladder, back to the Crew Sleeping
Quarters.
CREW SLEEPING QUARTERS
Climb ladder up to
the Ship’s Deck.
SHIP’S DECK
Walk through the
door, back to your cabin.
CAPTAIN’S CABIN
Use SMALL KEY in cabinet on the right to unlock
it. Look at chest in the cabinet, then pick up chest - you place it down
in the middle of the floor. Open chest, then look in chest, to find
a PIECE OF PAPER and some CINNAMON STICKS.
In your Inventory, look at PIECE OF PAPER to see the
directions to Monkey Island. It’s actually a recipe. So you can
only get to Monkey Island by following this recipe. Look at the
ingredients for the recipe.
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 leaves of mint
- 1 human skull (pressed)
- 1 squirt squid ink
- 2 pints monkey blood
- 1 live chicken
- 3 oz brimstone
- 1 or more of the following
- pyridoxine hydrochloride
- zinc oxide
- yellow 8
- mine mononitrate
- BHA
Okay, you should
have most of that already. Make your way to the Kitchen.
KITCHEN
Look at cooking pot
on the red hot fire. Use the following in the cooking pot:
- CINNAMON STICKS
- BREATH MINTS
- JOLLY ROGER FLAG
- INK (from the Captain’s
Cabin)
- FINE WINE
- CHICKEN (with pulley in
the middle)
- GUNPOWDER
- TSHIRT
- COTTON TSHIRT
- DUSTY BOOK
- FEATHER PEN
- SMALL KEY
- CEREAL
When you’ve added
all the necessary ingredients, the pot will start emitting strange green
smoke. The fumes will overpower you, and you’ll lose consciousness.
You wake up several days later. Make your way up to the ship’s
deck.
SHIP’S DECK
Your crew hasn’t
moved, but you’re amazed to find that you’ve reached Monkey Island! You
just have to find a way from the ship, onto the island. Well, there’s a
cannon here. You know the trick of getting shot out of a cannon.
Let’s try it again. Make your way down to the ship’s hold.
SHIP’S HOLD
Pick up kegs on the left, to get some more GUNPOWDER.
Now make your way to the kitchen.
KITCHEN
Use MAP with the red hot fire to get FLAMING
MASS. Now return to the ship’s deck.
SHIP’S DECK
Use GUNPOWDER in cannon nozzle. Use GIANT
PIECE OF ROPE with the cannon itself, to act as a fuse. Use
your POT. Now watch the cut scene, as you launch yourself to
Monkey Island.
