STREET

 

You’re outside MacDevitt’s Bar.  This section has some tricky time-based puzzles, so SAVE YOUR GAME often.  Look at the trapdoor in the pavement, and try to open it.  It’s locked from the inside.  Talk to Liam, who’s leaning against the wall, and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Enter the Bar. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE BAR

 

Explore the Bar.  Talk to Fitzgerald in the yellow jacket and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to the old man in the corner on the right and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Now ask him about the wire.  Exit the conversation.  Notice the PIECE OF WIRE he keeps putting down on the table.  It’s hard to spot, but it’s near his hands.  As soon as he looks away, pick up the PIECE OF WIRE from the table. 

 

Talk to the Bartender and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to O’Brien, who’s sitting at the bar, and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to Doyle at the bar and work through all the conversation topics.  Make sure you buy him a drink, then ask him about Fitzgerald.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Notice the GREEN BEER TOWEL on the bar counter, that Doyle is leaning on.  Wait until he takes a drink from his glass, then pick up the GREEN BEER TOWEL.  Leave the bar. 

 

 

 

 

STREET

 

Talk to Liam again, and work through all the conversation topics.  He confirms that Fitzgerald was at the dig last night.  Exit the conversation.  Enter the bar. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE BAR

 

If you haven’t done so already, talk to Doyle at the bar, and offer to buy him a drink, then ask about Fitzgerald.  Now work through all the conversation topics.  Exit the conversation. 

 

Talk to Fitzgerald in the yellow jacket again, and keep talking to him until he leaves the bar.  You hear a screeching of tires coming from outside.  Liam runs in, and tells you that Fitzgerald was run down by a car.  Leave the bar. 

 

 

 

 

STREET

 

Liam tells you that Fitzgerald really was hit by a car, and then the driver of the car abducted him.  Work through all the conversation topics.  Exit the conversation.  Look at the damaged panel next to the door, and try to use it - you end up breaking the switch.  Enter the Bar again. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE BAR

 

Drink the glass of beer at the bar, and keep drink it until the glass is empty.  Talk to the Bartender and for another beer.  The Bartender tries to pour one for you, but discovers that his beer pumps have stopped working… then his glass washer stops working.  Show him your ELECTRICIAN’S PASS CARD.  He asks you to fix his electric glass washer.  Look at the plug in the wall next to the Bartender, then try to use the plug.  It seems fine to you.  Maybe the wiring is faulty.  Use PIECE OF WIRE with the plug in the wall, then tell the Bartender that you’ve fixed his glass washer.  He asks you to go down to the cellar and fix his beer pumps.  Climb down the stairs behind the counter. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

It dark in the cellar.  Pull the lever on the wall.  You hear the grating of metal, but nothing seems to happen.  Leave the cellar. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE BAR

 

Leave the Bar. 

 

 

 

 

STREET

 

Look at the trapdoor in the pavement, and open the trapdoor, letting light stream into the dark cellar below.  Since you pulled the lever in the Cellar, that released the trapdoor.  Watch the cut scene with Khan.  Enter the Bar. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE BAR

 

Climb down the stairs behind the counter, and head down to the Cellar. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

It’s nice and light down here now.  You automatically pick up the TORCH and the BLUE GEMSTONE.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Look at the sink at the back wall.  Turn on the taps at the sink, and soak your GREEN BEER TOWEL under the tap, so it becomes WET GREEN BEER TOWEL.  Leave the Cellar.

HAY CART

 

There’s a hay cart in front of the castle wall.  Talk to the Farmer and work through all the conversation topics.  You agree to guard the stack of hay, while the Farmer goes off in search of Fitzgerald.  After the Farmer leaves, climb up the haystack. 

 

The haystack is not high enough to allow you to climb over the castle wall.  Look at the crack in the wall in front of you, and insert SEWER KEY into the crack in the wall.  It remains lodged in the wall, forming an extra step for you.  Now, simply climb over the wall, into the excavation site. 

 

 

 

 

EXCAVATION SITE

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Look at the mean goat, and talk to the goat.  Look at the nearby ladder, and try to climb down the ladder.  The mean goat will butt you, and knock you over!  Click anywhere to stand up again.  Look at the old decayed plough on the left.  The goat will knock you down again.  Did I mention, this goat is mean!  You have to stop him from attacking you.  Click on the ladder next to the stairs.  Once again, the goat knocks you down.  Quickly, double-click on the old decayed plough on the left.  You run across, and move the plough.  The goat tries to attack you, but the rope that is tethering him becomes tangled.  That taught him a lesson!  Now climb down the ladder next to the stairs, and climb down into the Altar.  The goat won’t be able to stop you this time. 

 

 

 

 

ALTAR

 

Look at the panel in the wall next to the door, to see that 5 holes have been drilled into it.  Try to use the panel if you like, but nothing happens.  Look at the door in the wall.  Look at the small statue on the ground.  It’s hard to see, but it’s there.  Push it over, into the stand.  Pull the statue upright again.  It leaves a pattern of holes in the sand.  Insert your fingers into the pattern of holes - they fit perfectly.  Look at the sack on the table on the right, and take some PLASTER OF PARIS from the sack.  Sprinkle PLASTER OF PARIS into the pattern of holes in the sand.  Now you just need some water, to turn the PLASTER OF PARIS into cement.  Your GREEN BEER TOWEL has probably dried out by now, so you need to re-soak it.  Climb up the ladder.

Squeeze the WET GREEN BEER TOWEL over the PLASTER OF PARIS in the sand - water from the towel is absorbed into the plaster, turning it solid.  Pick up the resulting PLASTER CAST.  Now use PLASTER CAST with the panel in the wall next to the door.  It fits.  The door slides open.  Head through the door, into the Secret Chamber.

Rather abruptly, you find yourself back in Paris, In Nico’s apartment.  You tell Nico that you found the GEM.  Exit the conversation.  You automatically leave her apartment.

Talk to the young doctor.  He tells you that his name is Benoir, and he’s a trainee doctor.  Work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to the Receptionist and work through all the conversation topics.  Show her all your Inventory items.  Make sure you show her ELECTRICIAN’S PASS CARD.  She’ll think you’re Moerlin, and she’ll let you in to see Marquet.  Ask her about Nurse Grendel, and keep asking until there is nothing more to ask.  Exit the conversation.  And older doctor strolls into the Lobby.  Talk to the old doctor and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Make your way down the corridor, towards the Wards. 

 

 

 

 

CORRIDOR

 

Talk to the man who’s polishing the floor, and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Try to open the door next to the man, but he won’t let you, since he’s responsible for everything in that cupboard.  Look at the socket in the wall next to the water cooler, and unplug the floor polisher.  While the man is plugging his polisher back in, quickly open the cupboard, and take the doctor’s coat, which you immediately put on.  Now everyone will think you’re a doctor.  Head through the upper-left door, into the Ward. 

 

 

 

 

WARD J2

 

Nurse Grendel gives you a BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF, and asks you to check the patient in Bed 2.  You do so.  Work through all the conversation topics with the patient.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to Nurse Grendel - she asks you to check on the patient in Bed 3.  You do so.  Work through all the conversation topics with him.  Exit the conversation.  Try to walk right a few steps, but the patient in bed 3 complains that you haven’t taken his blood pressure.  When you do so, he complains that you’re not doing it right.  You need to find someone who knows how to check blood pressure.  Leave the Ward through door on the left. 

 

 

 

 

CORRIDOR

 

Go through the upper-right door, back to the Lobby. 

 

 

 

 

LOBBY

 

Talk to the older doctor.  He introduces you to his nephew, Benoir (the young trainee you spoke to earlier), and asks if you will take care of him and show him around.  Exit the conversation.  Now talk to Benoir, and ask about Nurse Grendel.  Keep asking, until there is nothing more to ask.  Give Benoit the BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF, then exit the conversation.  Benoir will follow you around now.  Head up the corridor, towards the Wards. 

 

 

 

 

CORRIDOR

 

Go through the upper-left door, into Ward J2. 

 

 

 

 

WARD J2

 

Talk to Nurse Grendel and work through all the conversation topics.  She tells you that Marquet’s room is at the end of the ward, and it’s out of bounds.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to Benoir and ask him about the blood pressure cuff.  Tell him to use it on Eric Sop marsh (the patient in bed 3).  While he is checking the blood pressure of the patient in Bed 3, walk right, to the end of the ward.  Talk to the guard, who is sitting at the door, and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Now open the door and enter the Private Room. 

 

 

 

 

PRIVATE ROOM

 

Marquet is here in isolation.  As you are talking to him, another doctor enters the room and tells you to leave.  Watch the cut scene as you discover that the doctor was a fake, and that Marquet is now dead.  You automatically return to Nico’s apartment.

The Guard tells you that the museum will be closing soon.  Exit the conversation.  Notice the man over by the window.  He’s Andre Lobineau.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Now use the mechanism on the back wall to open the window.  While the Guard is closing the window, hide in the sarcophagus on the right.  The museum closes for the day, and Andre and the Guard leave. 

 

Watch the cut scene, as the thugs break into the museum in order to steal the tripod.  Hide behind the totem pole, then topple the totem pole.  Watch the cut scene as you are knocked unconscious.

You wake up the next morning, and head over to Nico’s apartment.  She reveals that it was her who stole the tripod last night.  Ask her about Andre and the Knights Templar.  You don‘t need to look at the manuscript again.  Exit the conversation.  Leave the apartment.

You’re outside a café.  Talk to the officer sitting at the table and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Talk to the juggler and work through all the conversation topics.  He asks you to demonstrate your juggling skills, and you discover that juggling isn’t as easy as you first thought.  Exit the conversation. 

 

Talk to the officer sitting at the table again, and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him your RED NOSE.  He tells you that a clown with a red nose is funnier than a buffoon without a red nose.  Exit the conversation. 

 

Talk to the juggler again, and ask if you can juggle again.  You automatically wear the RED NOSE.  You’re just as bad as before, but because you’re wearing a red nose now, the crowd applauds you.  The juggler is not happy with you, and storms off in a huff.  However, he accidentally drops a RED BALL, which you automatically take. 

 

Look at the poster on the pillar.  Use SEWER KEY with the manhole in the ground to open it, then climb down into the Catacombs. 

 

 

 

 

CATACOMBS

 

Explore the area.  Look at the 3 arches, and read the description in each arch.  The arch on the right is in very poor condition.  Use SEWER KEY with the arch to smash it open.  You find a mechanism behind the crumbled wall.  Look at the newly-exposed mechanism, and use the mechanism.  Keep using it until it jams.  Look at the boat, and use the winching machine on the boat to lower the chain.  Attach the chain to the mechanism behind the crumbled wall.  Use the winching machine on the boar again, to pull the mechanism free.  Head through the arch, into the Cavern. 

 

 

 

 

CAVERN

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Look at the crack in the back wall, and use the crack in the back wall.  Watch the long cut scene with the Templars.  Look through the crack again, and watch another cut scene.  The Templars finish their secret meeting, and leave in a boat.  Now climb down the stairs, and go through the doorway on the right. 

 

 

 

 

TEMPLARS HQ

 

Look at the circle where the Templars had their meeting.  Look at the pedestal, and use the pedestal.  Look at the circle circumference to see the Latin phrases.  Place the TRIPOD onto the pedestal, then insert the BLUE GEMSTONE into the TRIPOD, and watch the cut scene as it lights up the word ‘MARIB’.  You automatically return to Nico’s apartment.

Explore the area.  Look at Nejo, the boy on the left.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Exit the conversation.  Pet the cat on Nejo’s stand, and use the bell on the stand.  Talk to Duane Henderson, the American tourist.  Work through all the conversation topics with Duane.  Show him all your Inventory items.  End the conversation.  Talk to Pearl Henderson, at the stall in the background.  Work through all the conversation topics with her.  Show her all your Inventory items.  End the conversation.  Look at the stall owner in the background - he doesn’t have anything you want. 

 

Walk right a few steps.  Try to go through the pink door in the background.  However, it leads out into the countryside, and you don’t want to get lost.  Try to talk to the man at the kebab stand, but he doesn‘t understand you.  Walk through the arch on the right. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Look at the carpet that’s hanging up in the carpet stall - it looks familiar.  The carpet has the same pattern as your MATCHBOOK.  Talk to the carpet seller, and show him your MATCHBOOK.  He’ll reveal the entrance to a club.  Walk right, through the carpet, into the club. 

 

 

 

 

CLUB

 

Talk to Ultar, who is sitting down.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  Ask him about Bull’s Head.  End the conversation.  Try to talk to the club manager, who is behind the bar.  But he has no tongue, so he can’t communicate with you.  Try to open the door on the right, but it’s locked.  Look at the sign on the door - you don’t understand it.  Talk to Ultar again, and ask him about the sign on the door.  Ultar tells you that the door is locked, because the toilet brush was stolen.  Exit the conversation, and leave the club. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Walk through door on the left, back to the market. 

 

 

 

 

MARKET

 

Look at the man at the kebab stand.  You suddenly realise that he’s basting his kebabs with a toilet brush!  Walk all the way left, and talk to Nejo.  Work through all the conversation topics with him.  He tells you that if you give him your RED BALL, he’ll help you get the TOILET BRUSH from the kebab seller.  Agree to this, and he‘ll tell you a phrase to say to the kebab seller.  Continue working through the conversation topics.  End the conversation. 

 

Walk right a few steps.  Talk to the kebab seller, and tell him the phrase that Nejo taught you.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite have the effect you hoped for, and the kebab seller starts chasing you!  You quickly make your escape through the arch on the right. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Immediately head back through the arch on the left, and return to the market. 

 

 

 

 

MARKET

 

Don’t worry, the kebab seller isn’t chasing you anymore.  Walk all the way left, and talk to Nejo again.  You’re understandably angry that he tricked you with regards to the kebab seller.  But Nejo had a plan!  While the kebab seller was busy chasing you, Nejo successfully retrieved the TOILET BRUSH, which he gives to you.  End the conversation.  Head all the way right, and go through the arch. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Use the carpet that’s hanging up in the stall, to enter the club. 

 

 

 

 

CLUB

 

Show TOILET BRUSH to Ultar, and he tells you to give it to the club manager.  Ask Ultar about the phrase Nejo taught you.  Ultar translates it for you, and you realise that you were insulting his kebabs.  Exit the conversation.  Give TOILET BRUSH to the club manager behind the bar, who gives you the TOILET KEYS in return.  Use TOILET KEYS with the door on the right to unlock it, and enter the toilet. 

 

Look at the roller towel dispenser on the wall next to the door, and use the roller towel dispenser.  Use TOILET KEYS with the roller towel dispenser to open it, then take the WASHROOM TOWEL.  Look at the mirror.  Look at the toilet, and open the toilet stall door.  Look at the chain above the toilet.  Use the TOILET CHAIN - you accidentally break it off.  Leave the toilet. 

 

Leave the club through door on the left. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Walk through the arch on the left, and return to the market. 

 

 

 

 

MARKET

 

Walk all the way left to Nejo’s stand.  Pet the cat, so it jumps onto the shelves behind.  Now quickly use the bell on the table, to summon Nejo’s father.  The cat jumps back down to the table, then runs away, knocking a STATUETTE onto the ground in the process.  Pick up the STATUETTE (the statuette doesn’t fall, unless Nejo’s father appears at the same time as the cat is on the back shelves).  Look at the STATUETTE in your Inventory.  In your Inventory, combine SOGGY TISSUE with the STATUETTE, to make it look like marble. 

 

Talk to Pearl Henderson at the stall in the background and work through all the conversation topics.  Show her the doctored STATUETTE.  She tells you that she wants it, but Duane has the money.  End the conversation.  Talk to Duane Henderson, and show him the STATUETTE.  He buys it from you for £50.  Exit the conversation.  Go through the arch on the right. 

 

 

 

 

CARPET SELLER STALL

 

Use the carpet that’s hanging up in the stall, to enter the club. 

 

 

 

 

CLUB

 

Talk to Ultar.  Give him your £50, and ask him to take you to Bull’s Head Hill.  You automatically leave the club.

Ultar is waiting for you at the pink door in the background.  Talk to Ultar, and ask him about his taxi \ army truck.  He tells you that the fan belt is broken, so the truck won’t move.  Give him the WASHROOM TOWEL to use as a replacement fan belt.  He cuts it in half, and gives you half back.  Watch the cut scene.

HILL TOP

 

Take a TWIG from the tree on the left.  In your Inventory, combine TWIG with the WASHROOM TOWEL HALF to create a STICK TOWEL.  Look at the crack in the ground in the foreground, and use your STICK TOWEL in the crack.  Now climb down into the crack. 

 

Look at the rock in the upper-left area, and look at the hole at base of the rock.  It looks artificial.  Search the hole to find a metal ring.  Search the hole again, and you pull the metal ring, revealing a Secret Entrance.  Walk through the secret entrance on the right, and enter the Secret Chamber. 

 

 

 

 

SECRET CHAMBER

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Walk left a few steps.  Watch the cut scene, as you find Klausner’s body… then become trapped in the Chamber.  Look at Klausner’s body, then search him to find a LENS.  There are 2 panels on the wall behind Klausner’  Look at the panel on the left, then use it, to memorise the Latin phrase.  Look at the panel on the right.  Look at the panel on the left again.  Khan appears, and starts threatening you.  He orders you outside, so he can interrogate you. 

 

 

 

 

HILL TOP

 

Decide how you want to reply to Khan.  When he asks to shake your hand, use your ELECTIC BUZZER on him to shock him.  It distracts him just long enough for you to escape.  Jump left, off the hill.  You land in  Ultar’s truck below.  You automatically return to Nico’s apartment.

Watch the cut scene as your bring Nico up to speed.  Show her the LENS.  End the conversation and leave her apartment.

VILLA GARDENS

 

Watch the cut scene as you arrive at the villa.  Look at the Summer House in the background.  Look at the gardener watering the garden.  Talk to him and work through all the conversation topics.  Show him all your Inventory items.  End the conversation.  Walk left a few steps, and try to enter the villa, but the gardener stops you.  Walk left a few more steps, and look at where the hose comes through the wall.  Use BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF with the hose, to stop it from working.  The gardener enters the villa, to find out why his hose is not working.  Ignore his warning, and follow him into the villa. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk up towards the gate in the back wall.  When you hear the dogs barking, hide behind the suit of armour next to the stairs.  After the gardener leaves, climb up the stairs to the Countess’s room. 

 

 

 

 

COUNTESS’S ROOM

 

Talk to the Countess.  Work through all the conversation topics with her.  She tells you about her family history, and she also mentions the valuable chess set.  One of the chess pieces is a modern replacement.  She takes you to her family mausoleum. 

 

 

 

 

MAUSOLEUM

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Look at the tombs.  Look at the shrine on the left.  Look at the big statuette above the shrine.  Look at the window high up in the dome.  Move the bible from the shrine.  Look at the lectern on the shrine, and see the checkerboard pattern.  Talk to the Countess again and work through all the conversation topics with her.  She asks the gardener to fetch her old chess set.  Keep talking to her about the Templars.  When the gardener appears, you have to arrange the chess pieces in the correct order.  You can only move the white pieces.  Place them like so. 

 

 



 

When all the chess pieces have been placed correctly, a stone panel opens in the back wall, revealing the lost CHALICE.  You automatically return to Nico’s apartment.
