SPIELBERG TOWN
Welcome to Spielburg. Here's a MAP to help you find your way
around.
Well, you came here to prove yourself a hero, so let’s get started.
The sheriff gives you a warm, friendly greeting. Now, it would
be good to know a little bit more about this town, so you know
what you’re up against, as you try to become a hero. So talk to
the sheriff and ask about everything.
Now you are a thief, so it’s important for you to be able to get in
and out of places undetected. As soon as you can, go into the
Character Menu (the fancy square), and select the Sneak icon to sneak
around. If at any time the game takes you into a Normal walk,
make sure to enter Sneak mode again.
Notice the Hero’s Tale Inn. That looks like a good place to
get information, so enter it. Shameen, owner of the Hero’s Tale
Inn, greets you warmly. Talk to him and ask about everything.
Phew, that was a lot of information! Anyway, it’s been a long
walk to Spielburg, and you’re feeling hungry. Sneak over to the
bench & table, and sit down. Shema will come out from the
kitchen to greet you, so talk to her and ask about everything.
Now take your COIN PURSE from your Inventory, and
click it on Shema, then buy yourself a meal. When Shema returns
with the food, click on it to eat it. That tasted good! When
you’ve finished your meal, stand up and leave the Inn.
After talking to the sheriff, and Shameen, you know that the
Guild Hall is to the left, so let’s pay it a visit. Sneak left
to the next screen.
Enter the Guild Hall on the left. What an interesting place.
Notice that desk in the middle of the room? Look at the
Log Book, Sign the Log Book, and Look at the Log Book again.
Now click on the Quest Board on the back wall, and look at each of the
6 posters to read details about each quest. Looks like you’ve
got your work cut out for you, if you want to become a hero. Now
exit the close-up. Notice the Guild Master, Wolfgang, fast
asleep in his chair. Sneak over to him, talk to him, and ask
about everything. That’s all the information Wolfgang can give
you, so leave the Guild Hall.
Enter the Magic Shop (it has a big eye above it). Sneak up to
the counter, and the shop owner, Zara, will appear. Talk to her
and ask about everything. Since you’re not a magic user, you
don’t need to know much about magic, so leave the Magic Shop.
Head right twice, to the Farmer’s Mart. Hilde, the Centaur, runs
the Farmer’s Mart stall. Click your COIN PURSE on
Hilde, and buy some apples from her. Repeat this 5 times, so
you have 50 apples (you‘ll thank me later). Now talk to Hilde, and
ask about everything.
The Dry Goods shop is next to Hilde, so enter it. The shop keeper
is busy reading a book, and doesn’t notice you come in at first, Talk
to him and ask about everything. Click your COIN PURSE on
him and buy a FLASK from him - repeat this 3 times,
so you have 3 flasks. When you’re ready, leave the shop.
Sneak left to Tavern Street. Enter the alley to see Sam begging on the
street. Click your COIN PURSE on him to give him
a SILVER. Now talk to him and ask about everything.
When you’ve finished talking, leave the alley. Sam will give
you a parting warning not to drink the Dragon’s Breath in the Tavern.
Enter the Tavern. Notice that white thing on the floor, near the
stool. Pick up the NOTE to learn some information
about 2 people with the initial ‘B’. Now take the NOTE from
your Inventory, and replace it where you found it, and avoid suspicion.
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Now order some drinks from the bar if
you like (including the Dragon’s Breath, hee hee!), and DRINK them.
When you’re ready, Restore your game, and leave the Inn.
Check the time, and when it’s evening (sneak around town for a while,
if it‘s still the afternoon), return to the Hero’s Tale Inn.
Abdulla Doo is here, and he is very upset about the Brigands
robbing him. Sneak over to the bench and sit down.
When Shema appears, click your COIN PURSE on
her and buy yourself a meal. When she returns with the food,
click on it to eat it. Now talk to Abdulla, and ask
about everything. Poor Abdulla has had a hard time recently, and
needs some sympathy. Click your COIN PURSE on
him and buy Abdulla a meal. Also, give a RATION from
your Inventory to him. You can’t do anything else for him, so
stand up, and then leave the inn.
Remember, you are a thief, and the night-time is when you shine.
It’s also the best time to practice your lock picking skills
without being seen. Sneak around the town, until it gets dark.
OLD LADY'S HOUSE
When it’s dark, head left to the old lady’s house, which is next to
the Magic Shop. The old lady was sitting here in her rocking
chair earlier, but she’s gone to bed now. Perfect! Walk up to
the old lady's house, take the LOCK PICK from your
Inventory, and use it on the old lady’s door. Repeat this until
you manage to break into her house. As soon as you enter, SAVE
YOUR GAME.
There is a cat wandering around here, so pet the cat to make
friends with her, then keep as far away from the cat as your can, or
she will alert the old lady. Search through the desk on the left to
find a SILVER. Take CANDLESTICKS from
on top of the desk. Search through the settee to find 3 SILVERS.
Search through the bag on the settee to find 20 more SILVERS.
Search basket next to the settee to find a STRING OF PEARLS.
Now leave the house. That was a good haul!
SHERIFF'S HOUSE
Walk right twice, to the Sheriff's House. His house is in a
different place to the Sheriff's Office - it is the wooden door next
to the Dry Goods Shop. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Now use your LOCK PICK on the door, and you should
hopefully be able to break in. Keep trying, until you can get
inside. Once inside, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Take the CANDELABRA from on top of the desk on the
left, then search through the desk drawers to find some SILVER.
There is a MUSIC BOX on top of the table in
middle of the room - for some fun, open the MUSIC BOX,
and watch Otto appear. You can only do this once though.
Now take the MUSIC BOX. A nice house like this is bound
to have a hidden safe somewhere - you just have to find it.
Notice that vase on the shelf next to the fireplace. Move the
vase, to get to the painting behind it. Now move the painting.
Ah-ha! A hidden safe! Click on the safe to crack it
open, and get the bag of 50 SILVERS inside. Now close
the safe and replace the painting to cover your tracks. Take
the VASE. Now leave the Sheriff's house.
SPIELBURG TOWN
What an exciting day! There’s nothing like the adrenaline rush
of sneaking around in someone’s house when they don’t even
know you’re there!
It’s very late now, and you are tired. Sneak back to the Hero’s
Tale Inn, and enter the inn. Click your COIN PURSE on
Shameen and buy a night‘s rest. You automatically enter room at the
back left of the Inn.
If you have taken too long in the old lady’s house and the
sheriff’s house, the Hero's Tale Inn might be locked up for the
night. If this is the case, you will have to sleep next to the
town gates, which is not as good, since you will not be as well rested,
and you will loose some of your money.
The next morning, sneak back into the Hero’s Tale Inn if you
slept outside. Now sneak over to the table, and sit down on the
bench. Click your COIN PURSE on Shema, and buy
yourself a meal. When Shema brings your breakfast, click on the food
to eat it. You’re ready for another day’s adventuring, so stand
up, and leave the Inn.
Sneak down through the town gates. If Bruno is here, click on
him and show the thief sign - he’ll recognise you as a fellow thief.
Now give him a SILVER, then talk to him and ask
about everything. But don’t worry if he’s not here. SAVE
YOUR GAME HERE.
SPIELBERG FOREST
Those apples are really weighing you down - maybe you should
do something about that!
If you meet any enemies outside the town, simply RUN away
- you’re not ready to deal with them yet. Now sneak right, and
continue right, until you reach the avalanche. Then turn
around, and head back to town (but don’t go through the town gates).
Sneak back and forth between town and the avalanche. Eventually,
you will see a fox trapped in a snare. Click on the fox to free
him - he’ll thank you, and give you some good advice. Now sneak
up one screen, and head right, until you meet Brauggi. He’s hungry,
so give him the APPLE from your Inventory (aren’t you glad you
bought all those apples now?), and he will give you a GLOWING
GEM in return.
Now let’s head back to town. Sneak left once, down once, and
left twice, so you are back at the town gates.
HEALER’S RING QUEST
Sneak up once, to the Healer’s Hut. Now if you read the Quest Board, you
know that the Healer has lost her ring. Knock on the door,
and the Healer will let you in. What a quaint little house.
Talk to the Healer and ask about everything. When
you’ve finished talking, leave her hut.
Look at the bird up in the tree. Hmmm, I wonder if that bird stole
the Healer’s ring, and hid it up there? SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Now click on the tree to climb it, and repeat this until you
successfully manage to climb up the tree, but remember to rest every
so often so you don’t tire yourself out. Now look at the nest again
and get the RING. You automatically climb back down.
Knock on door of the hut again, and the Healer will let you in.
Give RING to the Healer, and she will reward you
with 6 GOLDS and 2 HEALING POTIONS.
You automatically leave the hut.
THE CASTLE
Sneak up once, to the castle gates. Karl, the Gate Keeper is
patrolling above the gate - talk to Karl and ask about everything.
Now click on the gate, and Karl will open it for you.
Head up through the gate, and enter the castle grounds.
Inside the courtyard, the Weapons Master might be here.
Since you’re not a fighter, you don’t have to worry about him.
Sneak right to the stables. The stable hand will ask if you’re
looking for work, so tell him YES. He’ll set you to
work, raking up the stables. It’s hard work, but you’ll get 5 SILVERS for
your troubles.
Now sneak left to the castle courtyard, then sneak down to leave
the castle grounds.
SPIELBERG FOREST
Sneak down once to the Healer’s Hut, then sneak left once to
meet Heinrich the Centaur. You already met his daughter, Hilde,
in the town. Talk to Heinrich and ask about everything.
Hmm, it seems that there’s more to the brigand leader
than meets the eye! SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Check the time, and sneak around, or climb the tree next to
the Healer’s Hut, until evening. When evening comes, return to
the town.
SPIELBERG TOWN
It is night time again - the time you like best! Continue
sneaking around, until it gets dark.
Now you have all this stolen loot, but what are you going to do
with it? If only there was a Thieves' Guild somewhere around.
Make your way back to the tavern, but don‘t enter it. There’s
a strange flashing light coming from the alley. SAVE YOUR
GAME HERE, then enter the alley to see something flashing at the
far end. Try to take the flashing item, and 2 thieves will jump
out at you. Click on the thieves to make the Thief Sign. Your
attackers will recognise the sign, and change their mind about
robbing you. They also tell you the password to give to Crusher
in the Tavern. This is randomly generated, so take note of it.
Leave the alley, and enter the Tavern. Talk to Crusher the Goon,
and ask about the Thieves Guild. He demands you tell him the
password, so make sure you select the right word from the list.
If you chose correctly, Crusher will take you into the Thieves
Guild.
THIEVES’ GUILD
You’ve earned your way into the secret Thieves’ Guild. Well done, you.
The Chief Thief isn’t very happy though, and he’s
busy complaining about ‘beginner’ thieves. When he’s
seated again, try and talk to him, but he refuses to talk to you
because you’re ‘unlicensed’. Click your COIN
PURSE on the window at top-right, and buy a LICENSE.
Also buy a THIEF TOOL KIT (this improves your
lock picking skills).
You are now the proud owner of a Thieves Guild License, thus
you now have permission to sell your stolen goods. Talk to the
Chief Thief and ask about every-thing. Now let’s sell the stuff
you ’acquired’. Click STRING OF PEARLS, CANDLESTICKS, MUSIC
BOX, CANDELABRA and VASE on Boris’s
window at the top-right. Now climb the ladder to leave the Thieves
Guild, and then leave the tavern.
SPIELBERG TOWN
It's getting late, and you are very tired. Make your way back to
the Hero’s Tale Inn, and enter the inn. Sneak over to Shameen,
click your COIN PURSE on him, and buy a night’s rest.
You automatically enter room at the back left of the Inn.
The next morning, sneak over to the table and sit down on the
bench. When Shema appears, click your COIN PURSE on
her and buy a meal. When she brings your breakfast, click on the food
to eat it. You’re ready for another day’s adventuring, so stand
up, leave the Inn, and leave the town.
SPIELBERG FOREST
Let’s explore some more. From outside the Town Gates, sneak
right once, up 3 times, and right twice.
ERASMUS
You’ve reached Mount Zauberburg, which is where the eccentric Erasmus
lives. Head up the mountain path, taking note of all
the amusing signs that appear. Did I mention, Erasmus is
rather eccentric?
When you reach his purple castle at top of the mountain, you’ll see
a gargoyle sitting above the castle, guarding it. He will ask
you 3 questions, so make sure you answer them correctly. If
you’ve been paying attention to what the townspeople have told you,
you should know the answers. The possible questions are:
WHAT IS YOUR NAME: Enter your name
WHAT IS YOUR QUEST: Glory
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR: Purple
WHOSE SPELL PROTECTS THE TOWN: Erana
WHOM DO YOU SEEK: Erasmus
WHAT IS THE BARON’S FIRST NAME: Stefan
THIEF’S PASSWORD: I Don’t Know
Now enter the castle, and do as the gargoyle says - go straight upstairs
to the tower, and don’t touch anything.
Sit down to talk to Erasmus, and Fenrus the rat. Ask about
everything - make sure you ask about Curses and Countercurses.
When you’ve had enough of Erasmus’s jokes, simply stand up, and
he will send you back to bottom of the mountain.
SPIELBERG FOREST
Sneak left twice, up once, left twice, up once, right once, and
up once. You‘ve now reached Erana‘s Peace.
ERANA’S PEACE
Erana’s Peace is a magical place that has mystical healing
properties. This is the best place to sleep at night from now
on, as you will be fully healed by the next morning. You can
also eat FRUIT from the tree every day to satisfy your
hunger. Now get some FLOWERS for the Healer (2 or 3
should be enough for now - you can come back and get more later).
Now, as beautiful as this place is, you can’t stay here forever.
You have quests to solve! SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
SPIELBURG FOREST
Sneak down, left, down, and left, until you see some unusual flowers.
SPITTING FLOWERS
These strange flowers are known as Spitting Flowers. Watch as
they spit their seed to each other. A seed like that must be
highly sought after - if only you could get it.
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE, and then climb the rock up to the
Spitting Flowers. Keep trying, until you successfully manage to
climb up the rock. Now click on a flower, and you’ll eventually
catch the SEED. When you’re ready, climb down again. SAVE
YOUR GAME HERE.
GOBLIN CAMP
Now as a thief, you need to know how to defend yourself. A
good place to do this, is in the Goblin Camp. Let’s head there
now.
From the Spitting Seeds, go down 3 times, and left twice, to
the Goblin Camp. This is not a nice place to be! Check
your stats, and if your health is low, drink a HEALING POTION,
and SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Now you won’t be able to do much at first, so take things slowly.
Let one of the goblins approach you, and fight him.
Different sword attacks are shown in the shield on the right,
so click on a sword attack, then click on the goblins until they are dead.
To begin with, just fight one goblin. After you have defeated
him, search the body to get any goodies he was carrying. Keep
an eye on your health and stamina, and when it gets too low, escape
right one screen, and rest for 60 minutes. Then return left
to the goblin camp.
Remember, you can always RUN mid-fight, if your health
or stamina are getting too low. Also remember to search the
bodies of the goblins that you kill, and when you have enough money,
you can buy some more HEALING POTIONS and STAMINA POTIONS from
the Healer.
When evening comes, make your way up to Erana’s Peace (right
3 times to the Centaur, Up 4 screens to the top, right once, and
up once). The next morning, eat FRUIT from the
tree, and then return here to the camp, to train more.
Keep practising, and fighting the goblins until you can
comfortably defeat at least 7 goblins, and your Weapon use is at
least 70. Remember to keep an eye on your health and stamina,
and SAVE often. This will take you several days.
MUSHROOM RING
From the Goblin Camp, sneak down twice, to the Mushroom Ring.
The Mushroom Ring is a very magical place. Take some MUSHROOMS (2
or 3 should be enough for now).
SPIELBURG TOWN
As a thief, you also need excellent throwing skills.
In order to have throwing skills, you need to buy some daggers.
Sneak back to the town, and enter the Dry Goods shop. Click
your COIN PURSE on Kasper, and buy some DAGGERS -
about 4 or 5 should do for now. Now leave the Dry Goods
Shop, and leave town.
ARCHERY RANGE
So you have the daggers now… but you still need to build up
your throwing skills.
From outside the town gates, sneak down twice, left once, and
up once to the archery range. Throw DAGGERS at
the target, and repeat until all your daggers are used,
then retrieve your DAGGERS from the target. Keep
practising throw your DAGGERS and retrieve your DAGGERS until
your Throwing skill is at least 85.
Remember to keep an eye on your health and stamina, and rest
when you need to.
THIEVES’ GUILD
Now your throwing skills are at a decent level, head back to
Spielburg Town. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Enter the tavern in town. Talk to Crusher the Goon, ask about
the Thieves Guild, and say the password (hope you took a note of it)
to enter the Thieves' Guild. You can to play a game of
Dag-Nab-It with the Chief Thief for some extra money. It is kind
of like darts, except you use daggers instead of darts. The aim is
to throw a dagger at the centre of the target. To begin, simply
click on the dart board. First, decide how much you are willing to
bet. You can bet as much money as you want, but try to throw
better than the Chief Thief does. You can adjust your angle
and force used by clicking on the relevant boxes. Make sure
to SAVE YOUR GAME after every game you win, then
load your game when you lose.
When you’ve had enough of this game, climb the ladder to leave
the Thieves’ Guild. Now leave the town.
THE DRYAD
From outside the town gates, sneak down twice, and then left
3 times, and you’ll see a white stag. The stag will run away,
so follow it left. Keep following it left, until it leads you
to the Dryad. Sneak left a little bit, and the Dryad will introduce
herself. She will ask if you are at one with the woods, so tell
her YES. She will ask if you will give her the seed
of the Spore Spitting Spires (the spitting flowers), so tell her YES, and
give her the seed. She gives you the recipe for a DISPEL POTION,
before returning to her tree. Look carefully on the ground, and
notice that she left a magic acorn behind. Pick up the ACORN.
DISPEL POTION
Since the Dryad gave you the recipe for the DISPEL POTION,
you should start collecting ingredients for it. You’re going to
need this spell later on. Okay, let’s get started.
Magic Acorn: This is found next to the Dryad’s
tree, after you have given her the seed from the Spitting Flowers.
Fairy Dust: This can only be found at night time.
You MUST have an empty flask for this. Now check the
time, and wait until it‘s dark. From the Dryad’s tree,
head right once, and then up once to the Mushroom Ring. Look at
the fairies dancing around the ring. Aren’t they pretty?
Just make sure you don’t go inside the mushroom
circle. They will ask you to dance, so tell them YES,
and then DANCE for them. When you have finished
dancing, click an empty flask on them, and they will give you
some FAIRY DUST.
Green Fur: You can get some green fur from the Meeps.
Meeps are cute little critters that live in holes under the
ground. Now from the Mushroom Ring, sneak up once and left
twice. Notice how they keep popping out of their holes. Wait
for one of the Meeps to pop up, and then talk to him. They’ll
talk amongst themselves for a while, then the Green Meep will jump
out and talk to you. Talk to the Green Meep, and ask about
everything. The Meep will drop some of his green fur on the
ground for you - take the FUR.
Flowers From Erana’s Peace: Head all the way back up
to Erana’s Peace, and get some FLOWERS. If it’s
getting late, remember to sleep here for the night.
Flying Water: Again, you need an empty FLASK for this
one. If you don’t have any, you can buy some from the Dry Goods
shop in town. Now you can find Flying Water at the Flying
Falls, which is found at the very bottom right of the map. If you
find yourself at the Mirror Lake, simply sneak up once and right
once. Now there’s a beautiful waterfall here. Click on
the water to collect some FLYING WATER in a flask.
‘ENRY THE ‘ERMIT
You have all the ingredients for the DISPEL POTION now.
But since you are here, at the Flying Falls, you might as well
talk to ‘Enry the ‘Ermit.
Notice the door in the Cliffside. Get some ROCKS from
the ground, and throw ROCK at the door. Repeat this
a few times, until ‘Enry comes out. He will reveal a
ladder that was hidden in the wall. Climb up the ladder, and
then knock on the door. After knocking on the door, stand on
the right edge of the door, so it doesn’t knock you off the cliff.
Inside ‘Enry’s cave, talk to ’Enry, and ask about everything. You
can’t do anything else here, so leave the cave and climb down the
ladder.
DISPEL POTION AND THE HEALER
You have all the necessary ingredients, but you don’t know how
to make the DISPEL POTION. Never mind, the Healer will
make it for you.
Return to the Healer’s Hut, and knock on the door to enter.
You automatically tell the Healer about the Dryad and the
Dispel Potion. Now give ACORN, FAIRY DUST, FUR, FLOWERS (repeat
as many times as necessary, until you don’t have any flowers
left), FLYING WATER, and MUSHROOMS (repeat as
many times as necessary, until you don’t have any mushrooms left) to
the Healer. Now click your COIN PURSE on her, and buy
a HEALING POTION. The Healer will start preparing
the DISPEL POTION. Leave the hut, and
immediately knock on the door again to enter. The DISPEL
POTION is now ready, and she will give it to you.
Since you are here, check your Inventory. You should have at
least 100 silver coins at this point. If not, go back, and
fight some more goblins at the goblin camp. Now
click your COIN PURSE on her, and buy UNDEAD
UNGUENT, and then leave the Healer’s Hut.
No doubt, you’ve heard about the *ahem* charming Baba Yaga
by now. Let’s go and meet her.
Make your way to the Goblin Camp, but don’t bother fighting any
of the goblins this time. Now head up twice, so you are at the
wooden fence and the chicken hut. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Bonehead will start talking to you, and complaining that he
doesn’t have a glowing gem like the other skulls, so he can’t see.
He asks you to get a GLOWING GEM for him -
tell him YES, it’s a deal. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Talk to Bonehead and ask about everything - make sure he tells
you the rhyme. Now give him your GLOWING GEM, and he‘ll
lower the gate for you. Notice the chicken hut perched on the rocks.
Talk to the hut, and it will jump down to the ground. Talk to
the hut again, and tell it HUT OF BROWN. The hut will
obediently squat down. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Enter the hut. Baba Yaga doesn’t like uninvited visitors, so she
turns you into a frog, ready to eat you. She asks if you have a
name, so tell her YES. She asks if you are brave,
so again, tell her YES. She asks if you will fetch her
some mandrake root, so tell her YES. Since
you agreed to help her, she transports you back outside her
hut, and thankfully, she restores you to human form.
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Now you only have one day to find
a Mandrake Root for dear old Baba Yaga, otherwise she‘ll turn you
back into a frog, and eat you. Okay, so from her
hut, sneak down 3 times and right twice, so you are in the
graveyard.
Unfortunately, the Mandrake Root can only be taken at midnight.
Check the time, and do whatever you like for now, but stay close
to the graveyard. When it’s the middle of the night - the
witching hour, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Use UNDEAD UNGUENT on
yourself, and enter the graveyard. There’s a lot of ghosts
floating around, but they can’t hurt you, since you’re protected by
the Undead Unguent. Now the MANDRAKE ROOT is that
red plant you see over on the right. Sneak over to it, and take
the ROOT. If you hear it scream, you know you’ve done it
right.
Return to Baba Yaga’s hut (left twice, and up 3 times), and SAVE YOUR
GAME HERE. Talk to the Chicken Hut, and tell it HUT
OF BROWN to enter again. Baba Yaga will ask if you
have the mandrake root, so tell her YES. She will take
the root from you, then let you go.
Make your way up to Erana’s Peace, and sleep for the rest of
the night. Remember to eat FRUIT from the
tree, when morning comes.
FREE THE MAN FROM IN THE BEAST QUEST
Time for another quest. You need to prepare yourself first,
though.
Head back to the town (remember to SNEAK), and buy some APPLES from
Hilde in the Farmer’s Mart. Now leave town, head up to
the Healer’s Hut, and knock on the door to enter. Click
your COIN PURSE on the Healer, and buy STAMINA
POTION - 3 should be enough. Also buy HEALING
POTION - as many as you can afford.
Return to Erana’s Peace, and SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Sneak down once and right once. There is a fierce ogre
here, guarding a cave. Fight the ogre. Phew, all that
fighting practice really paid off! After you defeat him,
search his body. Now use your LOCK PICK to
pick the lock of the chest that is lying beside him. You
are rewarded with 1 gold and 43 silvers.
Enter the cave, and see a bear chained to the floor. Poor bear!
What ever you do, DON’T fight him! Instead, feed bear
with the APPLES you bought from Hilde, and he will let
you past.
In the next cave, a Kobold is sleeping here. SAVE YOUR
GAME HERE. Notice the key around his neck. Sneak up
to the Kobold, and take the KEY. Check your
stats, and drink a HEALING POTION if necessary, then
sneak towards the bottom of the cave. You will bump into an
invisible chest. Use your LOCK PICK to pick the lock
on the chest, and take COINS to get the 10 golds and 60
silvers left behind.
Return left to the cave with the bear, and unlock the manacle on
the bear, using the KOBALD‘S KEY. Wait… the bear… turns
into Baronet Barnard Spielburg - the baron’s missing son! He
was cursed! He’s not very grateful to you for rescuing
him though, and magically teleports himself back to the safety of his
castle, using his amulet. There’s nothing else you can do here, so
leave the cave.
THE CASTLE
Despite the Baronet’s arrogance, you should make sure he got
home safely. Make your way back to the castle. Karl, the
Gate Keeper, eagerly invites you in.
Sneak up the castle grounds, into the castle. The Baron is waiting
for you, and he is very grateful about the safe return of his son.
When you get the chance, talk to the Baron and ask about
everything. Try to leave the castle, but the Baron insists
you stay for the night, so he can show his gratitude. The next
morning, he gives you the 50 gold reward for finding his son.
SPIELBERG TOWN
Sneak back to town. Enter the Dry Goods shop, click your COIN PURSE on
Kasper, and buy CHAINMAIL ARMOUR.
HEALER’S HUT
Leave the town. Go up to the Healer’s Hut, and knock on the
to enter. Buy VIGOR POTION and buy HEALING
POTION - buy as many as you can. You’re going to
need them.
BRING THE CHILD FROM OUT THE BAND QUEST
Let’s tackle another quest. You need to do some preparation
first, though. Your Stealth should be at least 70 by now.
Return to Spielburg Town, and make sure you have the CHAINMAIL
ARMOUR from the Dry Goods shop.
Now head for the tavern, enter it. There is another NOTE on
the floor here - click on the NOTE to read it.
The note is about meeting someone at the archery range at noon, so
keep your eye on the time. Now put the NOTE back on
the ground, so the meeting can go ahead. Leave the tavern, and
leave the town.
From the town gates, go down one screen and check the time.
When the time is ‘midday’, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Go left to the archery range, and see Bruno and Brutus talking.
So THAT’S who ‘B’ and ‘B’ are! Eavesdrop on
their conversation to learn about a secret entrance to the Fortress,
as well as the secret password - Hiden Goseke. Bruno will leave now,
but Brutus stays behind. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
Throw a DAGGER at Brutus to kill him. Now wait
for 30 seconds or so, to allow Bruno to get out of the forest (If he
sees you, he’ll kill you with poisoned daggers).
Head down once, left twice, and then down to ‘The Bouncer’.
Well, he certainly is a bouncer! This little creature is
known as an Antwerp. Run around the Antwerp so he won’t jump on you,
and then look at the rock on the left. Repeat this until you
find the keyhole. Use your LOCK PICK on the rock-keyhole,
and repeat this until you hear it click. Open the door,
then SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Talk to the opened door,
and say the password - HIDEN GOSEKE - before you
enter the cave. You hear the troll guard to retreat to back of
the cave without confrontation. Now enter the cave.
Inside the cave, follow the path round, and exit by the lower right,
to the next screen.
The cave leads you to the Fortress Gate. Toro the Minotaur
is guarding this gate. Check your stats, and drink a HEALING
POTION and STAMINA POTION if necessary, SAVE
YOUR GAME HERE. Wait until Toro is walking away from you.
Sneak up towards the fence, and then sneak across to the other
side. Now climb up the rock to enter the fortress. Keep
trying until you manage to climb over the fence.
You’re in the Fortress courtyard now. Notice the 2 blockades with
a rug in between them. Whatever you do, don’t step on the
rug, because it is a trap. SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
You may want to slow down your speed here. Sneak to the right slightly,
and look at the rope to see the trip-rope. Those brigands don’t
make things easy, do they? Step over the rope to reach the edge
of the pit. There are 2 bridges here. Cross over the
bridge on the right (the one with the note). There is another
trip-rope here, between the sacks and the barrels, so make sure you look
at the rope, then step over the rope. Now click on door at the
top-right to enter the next room.
As soon as you enter here, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. This
is another tricky bit, and it’s easy to die here. You’ve
reached the main hall now. Close door at bottom
of screen (the door you entered through) to prevent anyone else
from entering through this door. Now sneak up to door on
the right, with the chair near it. Notice the brigands at
the main door at the bottom. They notice the door is closed.
As soon as they start to leave (not before), move the chair to
block door on the right, and stop them from coming in that way.
The only entrance left, is the one on the left. Three brigands
will enter from the left, and they sneak behind the table to get to
you. As soon as the first one is behind the table, push
candelabra to the right of the large table (next to where you
are now) to stop them from reaching you. Now quickly sneak in front
of the table, and after the last brigand has passed the chair on the
left, climb up onto the table, and pull rope on the wall.
Another candelabra will fall from the ceiling, onto the
3 brigands, trapping them. Now open door at the back wall,
and enter up into the next screen.
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. This is a very strange room. And the
man you see here is equally strange. He’s the brigand warlock
that you read about on the Quest Board. But he’s really Yorick, the
jester. Talk to Yorick and ask about everything. He
realises you are a friend, and you may be Elsa’s only hope.
Make your way to door on the right - you’ll fall through a trapdoor
and start rolling endlessly down the same path. Simply click on
the path to come to a halt. Again, enter door on the right.
You’ll end up on the left, above the blue box. Very confusing!
Pull the chain in front of you to open door at the top right.
Quickly head back the way you came, and sneak up through the
newly-opened door. You find yourself in front of the blue door
at top left now. Open the door, and quickly step away before the
door flattens you. There’s another door behind the blue door,
so again, open the door. Sneak through this door.
SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. This room belongs to the brigand leader.
In case you haven’t figured it out yet, the brigand leader is really
Elsa, who has been enchanted. So DON’T fight her! Use DISPEL
POTION on Elsa to break the enchantment. Elsa will finally
remember who she really is. Elsa and Yorick are extremely grateful
to you. They return to the castle using Elsa’s amulet, but you have
to get out of here yourself. You don’t have much time now, before
the brigands break in. Sneak over to the desk, and get the HEALING
POTION and the MAGIC MIRROR. Now quickly leave
the room through the passage on the right. You find yourself
back outside the Antwerp’s cave again.
Now you still have one more thing to do, before returning to
the castle.
DRIVE THE CURSOR FROM THE LAND
Spielburg has been plagued by the evil Baba Yaga for so long.
And you have a personal score to settle with her, for turning
you into a frog. It’s time to get even with her!
Return to Baba Yaga’s hut, and SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.
The skull will ask if you want to enter, so tell him YES.
Talk to the Chicken Hut, and say HUT OF BROWN, then
enter the hut.
Click the Magic Mirror on Baba-Baby, and when she tries to turn
you back into a frog, the spell is reflected back onto her, and
she’s hopping mad!
With Baba gone, the brigands disbanded, and both the
baron’s children returned, Spielburg is now free from the curse.
And you are a true hero! Congratulations are definitely
in order.
Now sit back, as you, Abdulla, Shameen and Shema fly off on
the magic carpet, to adventures unknown.
The End!
