WOODTICK TOWN

 

After the intro, you - Guybrush Threepwood, mighty pirate - arrive in Woodtick, to begin your search for the legendary treasure known as Big Whoop.  You still have lots of money from your last adventure, so this treasure-hunt should be easy… shouldn‘t it?  Look at the Welcome sign at the edge of the bridge - it’s a ‘No Trezer Huntin Zone’.  Pick up the sign - you pull the SPADE from the sign.  Cross over the bridge.  Largo LeGrande will ‘welcome’ you to Woodtick.  He’s the local thug, and everyone is afraid of him.  Choose any dialogue options.  No matter what you say, he will steal all your money!  After he’s gone, cross the bridge, into Woodtick. 

 

 



 

Walk up, into the hut on the right, at top of the screen. 

 

 

 

 

WOODSMITH’S HUT

 

This is the Woodsmith’s hut.  Talk to the Woodsmith and work through all the dialogue with him.  During the conversation, he tells you that the only thing that could get rid of Largo LeGrande, is a voodoo doll.  Explore his hut if you like.  When you’re ready, leave the hut. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk left a few steps, and go up into the next hut at top of the screen. 

 

 

 

 

CARTOGRAPHER’S HUT

 

This hut belongs to Wally, the Cartographer.  In case you can’t tell from his hut, Wally is all about maps.  He makes maps.  Talk to Wally and work through all the dialogue with him.  He tells you about the map the leads to Big Whoop.  The problem is… the map is split into 4 pieces.  When you’ve finished talking to Wally, wait for a few seconds.  Notice that every so often, he removes his MONOCLE, and leaves it on the table, so he can rub his eyes.  When he does so, pick up his MONOCLE.  Poor Wally can’t see a thing now!  Also take a SHEET OF BLANK PAPER from the pile of paper in front of Wally’s table, on the right.  When you’re ready, leave the hut. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk down into the boat in the foreground, and climb down the hatch, into the Bloody Lip Bar. 

 

 

 

 

BLOODY LIP BAR

 

Begin talking to the Bartender, and choose any dialogue option.  Before long, Largo LeGrande will barge in, demanding a drink.  He spit’s his drink out on the wall on the left, takes the Barkeeper’s money, and then leaves.  After he leaves, look at the green spit dripping down wall on the left.  Use your SHEET OF BLANK PAPER with the spit in the wall, to get SPIT ON PAPER.  Talk to the Bartender again and work through all the dialogue with him.  He would love to get rid of Largo LeGrande… if only he had a voodoo doll.  When you’re ready, climb up the stairs to the upper deck. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Look carefully at the windows in the front of the Bloody Lip boat.  One of the windows doesn’t have any glass in it.  Jump through that window, into the kitchen of the Bloody Lip Bar. 

 

 

 

 

BLOODY LIP BAR - KITCHEN

 

Look at the vichyssoise on the stove.  Try and talk to the Cook if you like, but he’s not very friendly.  Pick up KNIFE from the kitchen table.  There’s nothing else you can do here at the moment, so just climb out of the window again. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk up to the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

MAD MARTY’S LAUNDRETTE

 

Look at the signs on the posts, for some amusement.  Talk to Mad Marty, the laundry guy on the right.  He’s extremely deaf, and he mis-hears everything you say.  Talk to the pirates on the left if you like.  When you’ve finished talking to them, pick up the BUCKET that’s hanging on the left.  The pirates will object, so use the following dialogue option. 

 

 

        -       Sorry, is this your bucket?

 

 

Since it’s not their BUCKET, they can’t object to you taking it.  When you’re ready, walk down to leave the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Head left, and enter the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

INN

 

Look at the Guest Registry on the counter.  Largo LeGrande is the only guest.  Try to walk through door on the left, into Largo’s room, but the Innkeeper will stop you.  Hmm, maybe if you got rid of the Innkeeper, you could explore Largo’s room.  Look at Pegbiter the alligator, and note that he’s tied to the post.  Use KNIFE with the rope on the alligator, and watch him escape.  The Innkeeper goes to catch him, before he can hurt anyone.  Now that Pegbiter has gone, look at the bowl to see that it contains CHEESE SQUIGGLIES.  Pick up the CHEESE SQUIGGLIES.  Now open door on the left, and enter Largo’s room. 

 

In Largo’s room, quickly take the TOUPEE from the dresser on the left.  If you’re not quick enough, Largo will return, and throw you out of his room - if that happens, simply wait a while and come back later. 

 

When you have the TOUPEE, leave Largo’s room, and leave the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

That’s all you can do in Woodtick at the moment.  Head all the way right, cross the bridge, and leave town. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

You see an overview of the entire island.  Woodtick, the town you just came from, is at the top.  Head to the Beach, at the top right. 

 

 

 

 

BEACH

 

Pick up the STICK that’s lying on the grass next to the trees.  Explore the area if you like.  Walk right, and talk to the pirates if you like.  But there’s nothing else you can do here at the moment.  Walk left to leave the beach. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

Go to the Swamp on the right. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP

 

Use your BUCKET with the swamp to get BUCKET O MUD.  Use coffin, and row right to the International House Of Mojo. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP - INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF MOJO

 

This house is owned by the Voodoo Lady.  Explore the house carefully 0 there‘s lots of spooky things to see.  Look at the STRING on the table on the left, and pick up some STRING.  Look at all the jars in the shelf unit on the back wall.  Look for the ASH-2-LIFE potion in the shelves, and pick it up.  Voodoo Lady informs you that it’s just a display model.  Work through all the dialogue with Voodoo Lady.  She tells you that she’s tried to put a curse on Largo LeGrande, but she needs 4 items to successfully complete the curse, and no-one is brave enough to get those items.  The items she needs are as follows. 

 

 

        -       Something of the thread.

        -       Something of the head.

        -       Something of the body.

        -       Something of the dead.

 

 

She gives you a VOODOO SHOPPING LIST, so you don’t forget what you need to find.  If you have any of those ingredients already, you can give them to her.  If you don’t, you can get them later.  When you’re ready, walk left a few steps, and use the coffin to leave here. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP

 

Row all the way left, until you reach shore.  Walk left to leave the Swamp. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

Go to the Cemetery at the bottom right. 

 

 

 

 

CEMETERY

 

Spooky Cemetery.  Walk up the hill at the back, to where the graves are. 

 

Look at the tombstones to ready the amusing verses.  Now Marco Largo LaGrande is the main tomb here, and he’s an ancestor of Largo LaGrande.  Use your SPADE with the grave, to dig it up, and get the BONE.  Walk left of right to leave the hill. 

 

Walk down, and leave the Cemetery.

Go back to Woodtick, and top of the map. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Head all the way left, and enter the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

INN

 

Enter Largo’s room on the left. 

 

In Largo’s room, you have to be quick, before he returns.  Quickly close the door - it doesn’t quite close properly.  Use BUCKET O MUD on the door, then quickly hide behind the dressing screen on the left.  Watch the cut scene as Largo gets covered in mud.  He storms off furiously.  Leave his room. 

 

Climb up stairs on the right, to leave the inn. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk up to the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

MAD MARTY’S LAUNDRETTE

 

Watch the cut scene as Largo gives his laundry to Mad Marty.  Look at the rat scampering around.  He may prove useful later on.  Open the box below the pirates, and use your STICK with the box to prop it open.  Use STRING with the STICK.  Place some CHEESE SQUIGGLIES into the box.  Now walk right a few steps, and wait for the rat to enter the box.  Time it right, and when the rat starts eating the CHEESE SQUIGGLIES, pull the string on the box to trap the rat.  Open the box, and pick up the TRAPPED RAT.  Now walk down and leave the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Remember the Bloody Lip Bar?  It’s the boat in the foreground.  Jump through that window of the boat, into the kitchen of the Bloody Lip Bar. 

 

 

 

 

BLOODY LIP BAR - KITCHEN

 

Use the RAT with the Vichyssoise pot on the stove.  Good thing it’s a cold soup, so the rat won’t be harmed.  Climb through the window again. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Climb down the hatch of this boat, down into the Bloody Lip Bar. 

 

 

 

 

BLOODY LIP BAR

 

Talk to the Barkeeper, and use the following dialogue options. 

 

 

        -       Hey… Ah… How’s the stew tonight?

        -       I dunno.  How much does it pay?

        -       Sure, I’ll give it a shot.

 

 

He goes to check on the Cook, and is appalled to see a rat swimming in the Vichyssoise (hee hee!).  He sacks the Cook, and hires you to replace him.  He gives you some PIECES OF EIGHT as your wages, then sends you through to the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

BLOODY LIP BAR - KITCHEN

 

Well, you have money again, but you have no intention of working here.  You have a treasure to find!  Climb out of the window. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk left, and enter the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

INN

 

Enter Largo’s room on the left. 

 

In Largo’s room, close the door to the room.  There’s something on the back of the door.  Pick up LAUNDRY CLAIM TICKET from the door.  Now open the door, and leave the room. 

 

Leave the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Walk up to the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

MAD MARTY’S LAUNDRETTE

 

Give LAUNDRY CLAIM TICKET to Mad Marty.  He searches his laundry line, and gives you Largo’s PEARLY-WHITE BRA!  There’s some pretty amusing things on that laundry line!  When you’re ready, walk down to leave the Laundrette. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

You should have all the things that Voodoo Lady requested now.  Head all the way right, cross the bridge, and leave town. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

Head to the Swamp on the right. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP

 

Use the coffin, and row right to the International House Of Mojo. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP - INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF MOJO

 

Walk right, into Voodoo Lady’s room. 

 

Use the following dialogue options. 

 

 

        -       About that voodoo doll…

 

 

Now work through all the dialogue to give her the 4 ingredients she requested.  She gives you a VOODOO DOLL and some PINS.  The drawback is that the VOODOO DOLL will only work when you are close to Largo.  End conversation with her. 

 

Use the coffin to leave. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP

 

Row left, and continue left, until you reach shore. 

 

Walk left to leave the Swamp. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

Return to Woodtick. 

 

 

 

 

WOODTICK TOWN

 

Head all the way left, and enter the Inn. 

 

 

 

 

INN

 

Enter Largo’s room on the left. 

 

You come face-to-face with Largo.  And you mean business!  While Largo is still talking, use VOODOO DOLL with the PINS.  Watch the cut scene, as you boast about killing LeChuck.  Unfortunately, this will prove to be you undoing.  Largo steals LeChuck’s beard from you, and tells you that he can use it to bring LeChuck back to life.  Gulp! 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP - INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF MOJO

 

You automatically make your way to the House Of Mojo, where the Voodoo Lady confirms that LeChuck can indeed be re-animated.  Choose any dialogue option.  She gives you a BIG WHOOP BOOK.  Look at the book in your Inventory, to read through it. 

 

When you’re ready, use the coffin to leave. 

 

 

 

 

SWAMP

 

Row left, all the way to shore. 

 

Walk left to leave the Swamp. 

 

 

 

 

SCABB ISLAND OVERVIEW

 

Go to the Peninsula at bottom left of the Map. 

 

 

 

 

PENINSULA

 

Walk up to the Houseboat. 

 

Talk to Captain Dread, and use the following dialogue option. 

 

 

        -       I need to charter a ship. 

        -       Tell me more about that necklace thingy you lost. 

        -       Gee, I think I met your friend.

        -       I gotta run, lots of treasure hunt’n to do.

 

 

Enter the Houseboat again. 

 

This time, don’t talk to Captain Dread.  Give him the MONOCLE you got from poor Wally.  He can use it as a replacement for his lucky sailing necklace.  Now talk to him again, and use the following dialogue option. 

 

 

        -       I need to charter a ship. 

 

 

You’re in luck.  Largo has been driven off the island, so ships are free to sail again.
