CHAPTER V:  THE JUDGEMENT OF QUEEN VOIGT

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 

CASTLE GATE

 

You and Reynard finally reach the castle wall.  All your other friends from the last chapter have gone their separate ways - Reynard is the only one who’s stuck with you.  You hope to find Ben and Winfriede beyond this wall.  Look at the wall, and look at spikes above the wall.  Use your Telekinesis on the BROKEN SPIKE.  It falls down to the ground, so pick up BROKEN SPIKE.  Walk left a few steps and talk to the Royal Guards.  They inform you that the Royal Wedding is today, when the King will marry Winfriede, and she will become Queen.  You CAN’T let that happen!  All the wedding guests are already inside the castle.  Walk left a bit more, and tear some Wanted Posters off the wall if you like.  Recognise any of them?  Continue left to the haystack.  Click on the hay, then use your BROKEN SPIKE on the hay, thus cutting the rope holding the hay in place.  You manage to create a handy ramp leading up the wall.  Now climb up the hay and look over the wall. 

 

 

 

 

LOOK OVER THE WALL

 

Watch cut scene with the King.  He seems to be counting fruit on the tree  Click on the fruit tree.  There is a FRUIT you can select on the left of the tree - use Telekinesis with that FRUIT to make it fall to the ground.  After a short cut scene, the King leaves to return to his duties.  Climb back down to the Castle Gate.

 

 

 

 

CASTLE GATE

 

Walk right to the Royal Guards, and use Telekinesis on the Guard’s spear.  The spear gets stuck in the gate.  You automatically walk straight up through the gates into the Castle. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE

 

Try to enter door to the Castle, but the Butler will stop you.  Choose any dialogue to answer him.  Convince him you‘re the Flower Girl, and he‘ll let you into the Castle. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

The Castle is impressive.  Enter cellar on the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

Talk to Cindy and work through all the dialogue.  When conversation is over, look at the clothes rack to see how talented a seamstress Cindy is.  Click on the Sewing Box to get some YARN.  Leave the cellar. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Go to kitchen on the lower-left. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Talk to Cook and work through all the dialogue.  You can’t really do anything here at the moment, so just leave. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Climb up the stairs, and enter Princess’s Bedroom on the upper-left. 

 

 

 

 

PRINCESS’S BEDROOM

 

Talk to the Princess, but she’s not very friendly.  She’s having a lot of trouble getting that SLIPPER on - maybe she needs a bigger shoe.  Search through magazines by the door to find a THIMBLE COUPON.  Now leave the bedroom. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Talk to Butler, who is standing in front of the upper-doors, and work through all the dialogue.  Look at Storage Door and Laundry Door on the upper-levels (you need to do this to trigger certain events later on).  Now enter Pigeon Hall on the upper-right. 

 

 

 

 

PIGEON HALL

 

Look at Note near the door, and right-click on the Note.  Click on pigeon in the pigeon hole - he has a tag that says ‘11’, but that’s not the box he’s in.  Look at sign on the right, and look at mailbox below the sign - it’s empty.  Ring bell next to the door if you like, but it has no effect.  Take LADDER on the right, then leave the room and return to Castle Hall. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Talk to Ernestine, the jester (she won’t appear until you’ve visited all 4 rooms in the Castle), and work through all the dialogue.  She gives you some BALLOONS.  Tell her you know someone that could do with being entertained, then send her into the Kitchen.  Follow her into the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Use Telekinesis on the Jester.  She’ll drop her Juggling Balls, and replace them with Tomatoes.  Talk to the Jester again and send her to the Princess’s Room.  Follow her to the Princess’s Room. 

 

 

 

 

PRINCESS’S ROOM

 

Use Telekinesis on the Jester again, and she’ll drop her tomatoes, accidentally landing a tomato on the Princess’s face.  Princess will chase after Jester, leaving you free to explore the room.  Take GLASS SLIPPER from the floor, and then leave the Bedroom. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Leave the Castle through Castle Entrance at lower-right, so you are back outside, at the Castle Entrance. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

You meet the Swan Prince.  He glides in on a white swan.  Work through all the dialogue with him - quite a conceited chap!  When the topic becomes his sword skills , use the following dialogue with him. 

 

        Then… they attack you suddenly…

        But you’ve won already.  You got him.

        They have their guard down.  You have your chance.

        Oh, but he… he strikes your sword hand.

        But you’ve won already.  You got him.

        Then… they attack you suddenly…

        But you’ve won already.  You got him.

 

His enthusiasm\arrogance gets the better of him, and he accidentally slices off his swan’s head, revealing the swan to be a robot.  Pick up the GLASS SLIPPER he dropped, so you have both GLASS SLIPPERS now.  Walk left to the Royal Garden. 

 

 

 

 

ROYAL GARDEN

 

Click on the tree - the Tree Spirit gives you a DRESS.  Unfortunately, the dress is much too big for you.  It’s an OVERSIZED DRESS.  Go down, back to the Castle Entrance. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Enter into the Castle again. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Kitchen at the lower-left of the screen. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Look at knife on the counter on the left, and use OVERSIZED DRESS with the knife to cut the GOLD BROOCH off.  Talk to Cook and work through all the dialogue with her.  Make sure you tell her about ‘More Meat’, so she’ll be distracted by the swan.  Now take NIGHTINGALE from the birdcage, then leave the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Cellar at the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

Use NIGHTINGALE with the coal pile on the right to make it a DIRTY NIGHTINGALE.  Now leave the Cellar. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Pigeon Tower on the upper-right. 

 

 

 

 

PIGEON TOWER

 

Use BALLOONS on the pigeon.  Now you need to use the pigeon into the correct box.  Click on all the shutters except the one in the left-hand column.  Now place BALLOONS as so: 

 

        Place a balloon in pigeon box to the left of the pigeon.

        The pigeon will be scared into another box. 

        Place a balloon in pigeon box above the pigeon.

        Place a balloon in pigeon box to the right of the pigeon.

        Place a balloon in pigeon box under the pigeon.

        Place a balloon in pigeon box to the right of the pigeon.

        Place a balloon in pigeon box above the pigeon. 

 

He should be in the correct pigeon box now.  In your Inventory, combine GOLD BROOCH with THIMBLE COUPON to get THIMBLE MAIL ORDER.  Now combine THIMBLE MAIL ORDER with YARN. Give THIMBLE MAIL ORDER to the pigeon, who takes it to be delivered.  You get a GOLD THIMBLE in return.  Leave the Pigeon Loft for now.

Return to Cellar at lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

Give GOLD THIMBLE to Cindy, then leave the Cellar.

Leave the Castle through Castle Entrance at the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Use LADDER with upper window to left of the Castle entrance (this won’t work unless you have already looked at Storage Door on the upper level inside the castle).  Climb LADDER up to a Secret Room. 

 

 

 

 

SECRET ROOM

 

Watch Cut Scene with Ben and Winfriede.  The owl startles you, and you fall off the ladder. 

 

Climb back up the ladder again, so you can see into the Secret Room.  Swap DIRTY NIGHTINGALE with the OWL sitting on the perch.  Winfriede returns, so you have to beat a hasty retreat. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

That owl won’t stop hooting.  He’s going to give you away if you don’t do something.  Enter into the Castle again. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Kitchen at the lower-left. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Place OWL in the birdcage, then leave the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Cellar at the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CELLAR

 

Cindy has finished altering the dress for you.  Since she’s finished all her work now, she’s gone to the Knights of the Queen.  Pick up ALTERED DRESS, then leave the Cellar. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Leave Castle through Castle Entrance at the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Outside the Castle, climb up the ladder to the Secret Room. 

 

 

 

 

SECRET ROOM

 

You climb into the Secret Room.  Watch a cut scene with Winfriede and Ben.  After Winfriede leaves, work through all the dialogue with Ben.  When conversation is over, move cloth to reveal the PAINTING underneath.  The PAINTING is of Master Bernhard, the missing Prince.  Ben recognises the PAINTING, and reveals that he is, in fact, Master Bernhard.  Wow, Ben is royalty!  Click on PAINTING again to remove it from the frame.  Now right-click on Plans on the wall to discover more of Winfriede’s treachery.  Look at mirror, and take PAINTING SCRAP from the mirror.  In your Inventory, combine SCRAP OF PAINTING with the PORTRAIT to get an important clue.  Now right-click on the blackboard to learn part of a spell.  In your Inventory, combine BLACKBOARD MESSAGE with PORTRAIT MESSAGE to get WINFRIEDE’S MESSAGE.  Climb out the window again. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Walk into the Castle, so you are in the Castle Hall. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Enter Kitchen at lower-left. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Look at knife on the table on the left, and use PAINTING with the knife to get ADJUSTED PAINTING.  Now leave the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE HALL

 

Leave the Castle through Castle Entrance at the lower-right. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Climb up ladder to the Secret Room. 

 

 

 

 

SECRET ROOM

 

Place ADJUSTED PAINTING in frame next to the window.  Watch another cut scene as you hide behind the ADJUSTED PAINTING, and look through the cut-out eyeholes.  Winfriede confronts Ben again, then leaves the room.  You, from your hiding place, saw the code that Winfriede used to open Ben’s cage.  When she is gone, simply click on the cage again to enter the code and open the cage door.  Use Telekinesis on Ben to see a vision of Queen Jannike.  You realise she is on Glass Mountain.  You HAVE to get there ASAP!  But how can you get to Glass Mountain before the wedding starts?  Climb out through the window again. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Go down to the Castle Gate. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE GATE

 

Head right, talk to Reynard, and ask him for a favour.  He leaves to deliver your message to Red Dragon.  Watch cut scene as Red Dragon arrives and takes you back up to Glass Mountain. 

 

 

 

 

GLASS MOUNTAIN

 

Knock on door of the house, and warn Rinkrank that someone is trying to hurt Queen Jannike.  He lets you into his house. 

 

Inside his house, you see Queen Jannike frozen in a crystal prison.  Knock on the crystal surrounds Queen Jannike, then right-click on the crystal.  Look at shards of glass on the floor, and use WINFRIEDE’S MESSAGE on the shards of glass.  The shards of glass come alive and start dancing around.  Use Telekinesis on shards of glass, and they form a mirror shape… but there is still one shard missing.  Where could that missing shard be?  Walk left to leave the house. 

 

Back outside, click on Red Dragon to return to the Castle. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE GATE

 

Walk left to the gate, and enter through the gate into the Castle Entrance. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Climb up the ladder into the Secret Room. 

 

 

 

 

SECRET ROOM

 

After a quick chat with Ben, click on drawers under the mirror.  You find the last SHARD PIECE there.  Use Telekinesis on SHARD PIECE to catch it.  Now climb back through the window. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE ENTRANCE

 

Walk down to the Castle Gate. 

 

 

 

 

CASTLE GATE

 

Walk right to Red Dragon.  Click on Red Dragon to return to Glass Mountain. 

 

 

 

 

GLASS MOUNTAIN

 

Enter into the house. 

 

Inside the house, use SHARD PIECE with SHARDS OF GLASS on the floor.  Watch a cut scene as Queen Jannike is released from her glassy prison.  Work through all the dialogue with her.  Jannike reveals that her an Winfriede are actually sisters.  Sadly, she thinks it is too late to stop Winfriede’s evil plan.  Take FLOWERS on the right, then leave the house. 

 

Watch cut scene as you, Ben, and Jannike manage to stop the wedding. 

 

 

 

 

CLASSROOM

 

Watch a flashback with a young Winfriede.  It’s interesting to see the characters as young kids.  Click on desk at lower-right to open it.  Right-click on Stuff In Desk to learn about the Wyrd, then talk to Dorothea (your mother) and work through all the dialogue with her.  Afterwards, you (young Winfriede) are allowed to outside to the Courtyard.

CHAPTER VI:  TWO SISTERS IN A FAR AWAY SCHOOL

COURTYARD

 

Go back into the Classroom. 

 

 

 

 

CLASSROOM

 

Right-click on your desk (lower-right) to find some scribbles that say:

Hmmm, must be a clue for something.  Look at KEY on the wall next to the window, and right-click on the KEY.  Apparently it’s the KEY for the garden shed outside.  But you can’t take the KEY since Dorothea will notice if it’s missing.  Okay, take white CHALK from the blackboard, and use CHALK to draw a picture on the blackboard.  Open heater on the right and take some COAL from the heater.  Take BELLOWS that are hanging next to the heater.  Have a look around the room if you like.  When you’re ready, walk left to the Courtyard outside. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Talk to Joringel and work through all the dialogue.  Talk to Wilhelm twice and work through all the dialogue.  Talk to Jannike and work through all the dialogue.  Talk to Jacob and work through all the dialogue.  Talk to Jorinde and work through all the dialogue.  Unfortunately, poor Jorinde has been traumatised by the Weisse Fraun, and doesn’t talk anymore.  Click on shed on the right, and right-click on the shed, but it’s locked up tight.  Go up to the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Look at the tree, and right-click on the tree.  You and Hans made a Secret Hide-Out in this tree. Unfortunately, you can’t remember the code to get in.  Look at those 3 rocks on the ground - could they be connected to your Tree house?  Click on the rocks in the order you saw scribbled in your desk:

Wow, a secret door in the base of the tree opened up, and you automatically enter. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

Watch the cut scene with Winfriede and Hans.  Hans has discovered Telekinesis.  The helmet Hans is working on is a primitive version of the helmet Winfriede used on Anna.  So this is when Winfriede’s obsession with the subject began!  Work through all the dialogue with Hans.  To perform the spell, you need a SPELLBOOK and some CANDLES.  When conversation is over, look at pile of books next to wall on the right, and take BIOLOGY BOOK.  In your Inventory, right-click on BIOLOGY BOOK to read it.   Look at BABY DRAGON and feed him some COAL.  Pick up BABY DRAGON, and he becomes FIERY DRAGON.  Look around the Tree house if you like.  When you’re ready, walk left, so you are back outside. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Go left, back to the Courtyard. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Talk to Jannike, and ask her about candles.  She tells you what you need to make a candle.  Go back up to the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Enter into the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

Look at dry ice on the left, and use BELLOWS on the dry ice to get GAS-FILLED BELLOWS.  Now look out window on the right. 

 

Use GAS-FILLED BELLOWS with the beehive to scare the bees away and make the beehive fall to the ground.  Go back inside the Tree house. 

 

Walk left, so you’re back outside. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Pick up BEEHIVE from the ground.  Enter the Tree house again. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

Give BEEHIVE to Hans.  He takes the BEESWAX, and gives you back the BEEHIVE HUSK.  Walk left to go back outside. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Go left to the Courtyard. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Give BEEHIVE HUSK to Wilhelm to use as a helmet, and he trades you his YO-YO for it.  Talk to Jacob twice, and comment on his blue flower.  Talk to Jannike, and ask her about Jacob‘s letters - it seems she hasn’t even seen any of his letters.  Enter the Classroom. 

 

 

 

 

CLASSROOM

 

Open Jacob and Jannike’s desk (top-right), and right-click to search it and find a CRUMPLED LOVE LETTER that Jacob wrote on a napkin.  Now make sure the heater on the right is open, and use FIERY DRAGON on the coals inside the opened heater to light it.  After he lights the heater, FIERY DRAGON becomes BABY DRAGON again.  You automatically open a classroom window to stop the room from overheating, then take BABY DRAGON back to his home inside the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

BABY DRAGON is happy here.  Walk left to leave him, and go back outside. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Head left to the Courtyard. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Give CRUMPLED LOVE LETTER back to Jacob, and explain that Jannike hasn’t even seen it.  He’s relieved to know that she hasn’t purposely snubbed his affections, and gives you his blue FLOWERS.  Watch, as you give CRUMPLED LOVE LETTER to Jannike… but she just uses it like a hanky, and blows her nose on it, then tosses it.  Poor Jacob.  Now talk to Joringel and tell him someone cares about him, then end the conversation.  Give BLUE FLOWERS to Joringel.  He’s feeling nervous about talking to Jorinde, so you automatically give him some privacy, and walk up to the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Walk left, back to the Courtyard. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Joringel is now busy trying to woo Jorinde.  Search his lunchbox on the left to find some purple BERRIES

 

Head up to the Tree House. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Enter the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

Give YO-YO to Hans, and he takes the STRING to use as a WICK for the CANDLES.  But you still need 3 different coloured dyes for the CANDLES.  Give blue FLOWERS to Hans.  Give purple BERRIES to Hans.  Give white CHALK to Hans.  You just need a SPELLBOOK now.  Talk to Hans and tell him you can help him with his test.  You and Hans automatically return to the Classroom. 

 

 

 

 

CLASSROOM

 

You’re ready to help Hans with his test now.  He’s inside the Classroom, while you’re standing out side the window.  If you’ve already lit the heater, the window should be open for you.  Reach in through the window and take SHED KEY from the wall.  Dorothea won’t notice, since she’s busy with Hans.  Hans still fails his test, and you both return to the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREEHOUSE

 

 

Hans holds no grudges against you for not helping him with his test.  Walk left to go back outside. 

 

 

 

 

TREEHOUSE

 

Head left to the Courtyard. 

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Look at shed on the right, and use SHED KEY to unlock the shed.  Take GLOVES from the shed.  Now head back up to the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

TREE HOUSE

 

Enter into the Tree house. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREE HOUSE

 

Use GLOVES to pick up DRY ICE on the left.  Talk to Hans again, and tell him you’ll help him with his test again.  You both automatically return to the Classroom. 

 

 

 

 

CLASSROOM

 

Throw DRY ICE into the teapot.  The teapot starts producing a lot of steam, and Dorothea thinks it Hans that’s causing the steam, so she gives him a Pass for his Test.  You and Hans automatically return to the Tree House. 

 

 

 

 

INSIDE THE TREE HOUSE

 

Watch a cut scene with you and Hans.  Minerva appears, telling you that you’ll never have the power of the Third Eye.  You are furious about this.  Minerva also tells you somebody already has that power.  You think it’s Jorinde, since she already had an encounter with the Weisse Frauen.  You want that power of the Third Eye, and if you have to take it from Jorinde by force, so be it.  You automatically leave the Tree House. 

 

 

 

 

OUTSIDE THE TREE HOUSE

 

Walk left to the Courtyard.

 

 

 

 

COURTYARD

 

Talk to Jorinde, and she takes you to the Lake. 

 

 

 

 

LAKE

 

Now sit back, and enjoy the bitter-sweet ending of Anna’s Quest.  Hope you enjoyed it.
