BACK YARD

 

Look at the window leading to Dr Fred’s old lab.  The generator is still there.  Unfortunately, you can’t get through that tiny window.  Walk left to the Front Yard. 

 

 

 

 

FRONT YARD

 

Walk up towards the mansion, and the Tentacle Guard will take you back to the Kennel. 

 

 

 

 

KENNEL

 

Talk to Tentacle Guard, and tell him you don’t feel well (again).  He’ll take you back to Dr Tentacle’s Office. 

 

 

 

 

DOCTOR TENTACLE’S OFFICE

 

Since Dr Tentacle isn’t here, just leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Head up through door in the back wall, so you’re in the Registration Area again. 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION AREA

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Be careful here.  If you go through the wrong door, you’ll end up back in the Kennel.  Walk right a few steps, talk to Blue Tentacle, and work through all the dialogue.  He’s very insulting!  When conversation is over, climb up through the fireplace, up to the Roof. 

 

 

 

 

ROOF

 

Look at the FLAG on the flagpole - it looks just like a tentacle.  Use CRANK on the crank box on the flagpole, then use the CRANK to wind the FLAG down.  Pick up the FLAG.  Pick up the CRANK again.  Look through the window - you can see into the Attic.  That’s where they’re having Human Show that Harold told you about.  Use the FLAG - you wear it like a costume.  You look like a Tentacle now, so you have free reign to go anywhere you want.  Climb down the chimney, back to the Registration Area. 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION AREA

 

Walk right a few steps, and talk to Blue Tentacle.  Tell him you want to enter your Human into the contest.  He gives you a NAME TAG for your Human.  Now you look like a Tentacle, he’s really changed his tune towards you.  Walk through door on the left to return to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk out the front door on the left, so you’re out in the Front Yard. 

 

 

 

 

FRONT YARD

 

Walk right a few steps, and notice the cat scratching his back on the fence.  Try to pick up the cat, but you can’t get close to him.  Every time you go near, he runs away.  Use BOOBOO-B-GONE with the fence, then step away from the fence.  The cat returns, and scratches his back on the fence again.  But the BOOBOO-B-GONE on the fence rubs onto his fur, creating a white stripe down his back, making him look like a skunk.  The poor cat freaks out, and jumps up onto the roof, before trying desperately to lick the white stripe off his fur.  Give SQUEAKY MOUSE TOY to the cat.  The cat approaches you, wanting the MOUSE TOY.  You automatically grab him, before he can get away again.  Head left, and return to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Climb up stairs on the right, up to the 1st Floor Hallway.  Now you look like a Tentacle, the Tentacle Guard with the net won’t try to stop you. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Look in the ice machine - it looks like there’s some kind of rodent in there.  Pick up FROZEN HAMSTER.  This is the same hamster that Bernard stuck in the ice machine.  Poor little guy. 

 

There are 3 doors in this Hallway.  Enter through Door 1, into the Time Capsule Room. 

 

 

 

 

TIME CAPSULE ROOM

 

Explore the room.  Use CAN OPENER on the Time Capsule to open it, and pick up the bottle of VINEGAR from the Time Capsule.  This is the bottle of wine that Hoagie put in the Time Capsule with Thomas Jefferson, but it’s now 400 years old, so it turned into VINEGAR.  Now leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Enter through Door 2, into the 70s Room. 

 

 

 

 

70s ROOM

 

Explore the room.  Pick up ROLLER SKATES, and use ROLLER SKATES with the Mummy.  Push the Mummy out of the room.  Notice that he lands in the Entrance Hall, along with the other Humans.  Pick up EXTENSTION CORD that’s next to the wall.  When you’re ready, leave the room.

Enter Door 3, into Purple Tentacle’s Room. 

 

 

 

 

PURPLE TENTACLE’S ROOM

 

Work through all the dialogue.  When conversation is over, leave the room.

Walk left a few steps, and climb down stairs on the left, down to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Send all your Inventory Items to Bernard, then switch to Bernard.

Walk up through the double doors, into the Main Hall. 

 

 

 

 

MAIN HALL

 

Use SCALPEL with Oozo The Clown to deflate him, then pick up BOX O LAUGHS that was inside Oozo.  Climb up through the fireplace, up to the Roof.

Climb in through the window, into the Attic. 

 

 

 

 

BACK ATTIC

 

Walk right to the Front Attic. 

 

 

 

 

FRONT ATTIC

 

Climb down through the trapdoor, to the 2nd Floor Hallway. 

 

 

 

 

2ND FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Go through door on the left, into the Surveillance Room. 

 

 

 

 

SURVEILLANCE ROOM

 

This room has been altered, thanks to Hoagie’s actions in the past.  The statue is now holding his sword in the right hand, instead of his left.  Push Nurse Edna out of the room.  Since she can’t grab onto the sword in the statue anymore, she can’t pull herself back into the room.  Now, look at the monitor, and see that a sleepwalking Dr Fred is trying to open his wall safe.  But he’s entering the combination too fast for you to see.  If only you could slow things down.  Hmm, maybe you can.  Use VIDEO TAPE in the VCR, then use the VCR to get a close-up.  Press the red ‘Record’ button on the VCR.  You see Dr Fred trying to open the safe.  You also see the IRS arresting Dr Fred.  Now change the speed from ‘SP’ to ‘EP’.  Press the ‘Rewind’ button, then press the ‘Play’ button.  You see, in slow motion, Dr Fred opening his safe.  And you can finally see the combination for the safe.  Exit the close-up, then leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

2ND FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Make your way down to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Enter Dr Fred’s Office, behind the counter. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S OFFICE

 

If you haven’t done so already, open the painting on the wall.  Now open the hidden wall safe.  You automatically remember the combination you saw on the video tape.  Pick up CONTRACT from the wall safe.  Now you just have to get Dr Fred to sign it.  But in order for Dr Fred to sign the CONTRACT, you have to rescue him from the IRS.  Leave the office. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Head through the double doors in the back wall, into the Main Hall. 

 

 

 

 

MAIN HALL

 

Climb up through the fireplace, onto the Roof. 

 

 

 

 

ROOF

 

Climb through the window, into the Back Attic. 

 

 

 

 

BACK ATTIC

 

Dr Fred is here, but he’s tied to the bed.  If you could find a decoy, you could fool the IRS into thinking that Dr Fred is still here.  Pick up the ROPE that he’s tied with, then climb back out the window. 

 

 

 

 

WINDOW

 

Use ROPE with the pulley that’s hanging above the window.  Climb down the chimney, back to the Main Hall. 

 

 

 

 

MAIN HALL

 

Walk left to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk through front door on the left, so you are outside. 

 

 

 

 

YARD

 

Look at Dead Cousin Ted.  Talk to him if you like, and work through all the dialogue.  Use the dangling rope with Dead Cousin Ted, and you tie it around his neck.  Enter the mansion again. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk through the double doors in the back wall, into the Main Hall. 

 

 

 

 

MAIN HALL

 

Climb up through the fireplace, onto the Roof. 

 

 

 

 

ROOF

 

Pull the rope that’s hanging from the pulley, and Dead Cousin Ted will be hoisted up into the Attic.  At the same time, you will fall down to the Yard. 

 

 

 

 

YARD

 

Enter the mansion. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk up through the double doors in the back wall, so you’re in the Main Hall again. 

 

 

 

 

MAIN HALL

 

Climb up the fireplace, up onto the Roof. 

 

 

 

 

ROOF

 

Climb through the window, into the Back Attic. 

 

 

 

 

BACK ATTIC

 

Dr Fred is still here, and so is Dead Cousin Ted.  Use RED PAINT with Dead Cousin Ted, so he’s the same colour as Dr Fred.  Use Dead Cousin Ted with Dr Fred, so they switch places.  Now use the rope with Dr Fred, so he’s tied to the pulley.  Climb out through the window, to the Roof. 

 

 

 

 

ROOF

 

Pull the rope that’s hanging from the pulley.  Well, you’ve rescued Dr Fred from the IRS, but he’s still unconscious.  You automatically take him to his Secret Lab. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S SECRET LAB

 

You have to wake Dr Fred up, somehow.  Use FUNNEL with Dr Fred, and you stick it in his mouth.  Now use COFFEE with Dr Fred - you pour the COFFEE into the funnel, and Dr Fred wakes up with renewed energy.  Give CONTRACT to Dr Fred, but he won’t sign anything he hasn’t read.  And he doesn’t have time to read it!  Use the following dialogue options. 

 

 

        -       Oh, forget it.  I’ll get rid of Purple Tentacle myself. 

        -       I guess I can’t.  Hey, did you join a record club lately?

 

 

You tricked Dr Fred into signing the CONTRACT.  Use STAMP with the SIGNED CONTRACT to seal it in an envelope.  Send all your Inventory Items to Hoagie, then switch to Hoagie.

HOAGIE - 200 YEARS IN THE PAST

Head outside, to the Yard. 

 

 

 

 

YARD

 

Use SIGNED CONTRACT with the mailbox on the left.  Watch the cut scene as Dr Fred, in the present day, gets paid $2 million dollars in back royalties.  Enter the mansion again. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Climb through the Grandfather Clock, into Red Edison’s Secret Lab. 

 

 

 

 

 

RED EDISON’S SECRET LAB

 

Give GOLD PLATED QUILL PEN and VINEGAR to Red Edison.  Red gets to work creating his SUPER BATTERY.  When he’s finished, pick up SUPER BATTERY from the shelf above the workbench.  However, the SUPER BATTERY is dead, and needs to be charged.  Climb the stairs, up to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Climb up stairs on the right, up to the 1st Floor Hallway. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Enter Door 3, into Ben Franklin’s Room. 

 

 

 

 

BEN FRANKLIN’S ROOM

 

Ben is too busy to talk to you.  Give him the LAB COAT.  He alters it, and turns it into a kite.  He goes back out to the field to try another experiment with electricity. 

 

 

 

 

FIELD

 

Ben hands you the kite, and tells you to ‘Push’ it at the right moment.  When Ben walks away, quickly use your dead SUPER BATTERY with the kite - you hide it in a pocket on the kite.  When Ben gives the word, simply ‘Push’ the kite.  Watch the cut scene, as lightning strikes the kite, thus charging up the SUPER BATTERY that’s inside the kite.  Ben Franklin takes the kite back to his room to study the results.  Notice that the SUPER BATTERY falls out of the kite.  Pick up the SUPER BATTERY.  Walk left a few steps, then up to the Outhouses. 

 

 

 

 

OUTHOUSES

 

Use your fully-charged SUPER BATTERY with the plug for the Chron-O-John.  It now has power.  Yippee!  That’s all of Hoagie’s tasks finished for the moment.  Send all your Inventory Items to Bernard, then switch to Bernard.

Enter Dr Fred’s Office behind the counter. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S OFFICE

 

Use the phone to order a diamond.  Watch the cut scene with Dr Fred. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S SECRET LAB

 

You end up back in the Secret Lab.  Send all your Inventory Items to Laverne, then switch to Laverne.

Notice that your Mummy is here, sitting next to Harold, who’s a contestant for the Human Show.  You need to enter your Mummy in the Human Show, so use NAME TAG on the Mummy.  The Tentacle Guard with the net declares the contest has now begun, and all the contestants are taken up to the Attic, where the contest will take place.  Climb up stairs on the right, up to the 1st Floor Hallway. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Walk right a few steps, and climb up to the Attic. 

 

 

 

 

ATTIC

 

This is where the Human Show is taking place.  All the contestants are here - your Mummy included!  You want to win this contest.  Harold poses a threat to your winning, so you have to get rid of him.  Use FAKE BARF with Harold - Doctor Tentacle disqualifies him.  Now to ‘decorate’ your Mummy.  Use WET SOGGY NOODLES with the Mummy.  It looks like hair.  However, he looks somewhat out of place, compared to the other contestants.  Use FORK with the Mummy‘s head, to style his hair, so it looks the same as the other humans.  Use BOX O LAUGHS with the Mummy, to give him a nice laugh.  Use DENTURES with the Mummy, to give him a nice smile.  Now walk right a few steps, into the Judging Area. 

 

Talk to the judges.  Work through the dialogue to get judged on Best Hair, Best Smile, and Best Laugh.  Your Mummy wins in all 3 categories, thus winning the entire contest.  Your prize is a DINNER CERTIFICATE for Club Tentacle, and a shiny TROPHY.  You automatically take the Mummy back to his room. 

 

 

 

 

70s ROOM

 

You’ve done all you can with the Mummy, so just leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Walk left a few steps, and make your way down to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Look at the Grandfather Clock.  Dr Fred’s old Lab is hidden in this clock.  Try to open the clock, but Tentacle Guard with the net stops you.  You have to get rid of him, somehow.  Head up through the sliding door in the back wall, into the Registration Area. 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION AREA

 

Head up through sliding door in the back wall, into the Kennel. 

 

 

 

 

KENNEL

 

Talk to the Tentacle Guard, and work through all the dialogue.  Give DINNER CERTIFICATE to the Tentacle Guard.  He gladly accepts it, and leaves the Kennel to take his wife to Club Tentacle - using your Certificate, of course!  Now the Kennel is unguarded, you can free the Edisons.  Push the switch in the wall to turn off the force field.  However, it seems that the Edisons are perfectly happy in their cell, and don’t want to escape.  But notice what he said about not liking skunks.  Hmm, maybe you could use that to your advantage.  Use CAT (who looks like a skunk) with the Edisons, and watch the chaos. 

 

The Edisons have fled.  And Tentacle Guard with the net is chasing after them.  Leave the Kennel. 

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION AREA

 

Go through door on the right, into the Kitchen. 

 

 

 

 

KITCHEN

 

Remember, you have a FROZEN HAMSTER.  Maybe you could thaw him out here.  Use FROZEN HAMSTER with the microwave.  Well, he’s thawed, but now he’s a COLD WET HAMSTER.  You need to warm him up.  Go through door on the right, into the Laundry Room. 

 

 

 

 

LAUNDRY ROOM

 

The SWEATER that Bernard put into the dryer, has only just finished drying.  Open the dryer, and pick up the SWEATER.  It’s shrunk rather a lot.  In fact, it’s shrunk to doll-size.  Use SWEATER with you COLD WET HAMSTER, so he becomes TOASTY WARM HAMSTER.  Make your way back to the Entrance Hall. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Walk left out the front door, and into the Front Yard. 

 

 

 

 

FRONT YARD

 

Walk right to the Back Yard. 

 

 

 

 

BACK YARD

 

Use EXTENSION CORD with the plug on the Chron-O-John, then use the EXTENSION CORD with the window leading to Dr Fred’s Old Lab.  Now make your way back to the Entrance Hall in the Mansion. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

Open the Grandfather Clock.  Climb into the Grandfather Clock, down to Dr Fred’s Old Lab. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S OLD LAB

 

Explore the Lab.  Plug the EXTENSION CORD into the power outlet in the generator.  Use TOASTY WARM HAMSTER with the generator.  A boxing glove will shoot out from the wall, punching you in the nose.  The TOASTY WARM HAMSTER will see his chance for escape, and flee to a nearby mouse hole in the wall.  You need to get him back.  Use Built-In Shop Vac with the mouse hole to suck up the mouse.  Now open the hatch in the Built-In Shop Vac, and pick up the DUST BALL to get DUSTY WARM HAMSTER.  Now use DUSTY WARM HAMSTER with the generator.  This time, the hamster dutifully powers up the generator, giving power to the Chron-O-John outside.  Watch the long cut scene.

BERNARD, LAVERNE, & HOAGIE - YESTERDAY

HONEYMOON SUITE

 

After the cut scene, all 3 of you are combined into a 3-headed monster, with Purple Tentacle chasing after you.  You hide out in the Honeymoon Suite.  But you can’t stay here forever - you have to stop Purple Tentacle from taking over the world.  When you’re ready, leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Open Door 2.  Purple Tentacle will see you, and shrink you again.  Quickly run into the Guest Suite. 

 

 

 

 

GUEST SUITE

 

Notice the mouse hole under the dog painting.  While you are shrunk, run through the mouse hole, into Green Tentacle’s Bedroom. 

 

 

 

 

GREEN TENTACLE’S BEDROOM

 

Wait until you are full-size again, then pick up BOWLING BALL, which is on the bedside cabinet.  Now leave the room. 

 

 

 

 

1ST FLOOR HALLWAY

 

Purple Tentacle is nowhere in sight.  Walk left, and head down to the Ground Floor. 

 

 

 

 

ENTRANCE HALL

 

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Open the Grandfather Clock, and climb through the clock, down into Dr Fred’s Secret Lab. 

 

 

 

 

DR FRED’S SECRET LAB

 

There’s lots of Purple Tentacles here, all guarding the Sludge-O-Matic Machine.  Dr Fred is tied upside down to the Sludge-O-Matic Machine.  Use BOWLING BALL with the Purple Tentacles to knock them down.  Just as you turn off the Sludge-O-Matic Machine… Original Purple Tentacle shows up, and shrinks you again, before turning the machine back on.  Talk to Original Purple Tentacle using the following dialogue options. 

 

 

        -       Just what is it you have against humans, anyway?

        -       Sounds like that’s all Dr Fred’s fault, really. 

        -       You’re pretty handy with that ray gun. 

        -       Why don’t you zap Dr Fred if you hate him so much. 

 

 

Purple Tentacle takes the bait, and fires his shrinking ray at Dr Fred.  However, the mirror on Dr Fred’s forehead reflects the ray back onto Purple Tentacle, shrinking him instead. 

 

 

 

 

Now sit back, and enjoy the ending.  Congratulations, you prevented the evil Purple Tentacle from taking over the world!
